EBAY EPN QPC Forumula Is Useless, Turning Into A Scam

I hate to be this blunt, but i'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation with the ebay affiliate program. Affiliates are not told exactly how their metrics work for finding out how much you earn. It seems, generally, the more traffic you send, your quality score goes down and you earn less. I have many websites with the ebay program implemented. The traffic I receive is of the best quality you can get, either direct type in traffic or pure, organic search engine traffic. Last month, my traffic was worth about 18-20 cents per click. This month, it's about 3-4 cents. Who pays 3-4 cents for quality organic search engine traffic? Even the lousiest programs out there will surely pay at least 10 cents?

I have been with the Ebay program for years since they were with CJ.com There is no incentive to promote Ebay.

any domain that did well with ebay's old system could still do well with an adsense mini-site. so you have a good problem on your hands. what makes it even better is that product mini-sites have the best CTR. and it sounds like you own the right domains for it.

I'm still trying to make sense out of it by comparing against my transaction reports - I had a couple of fairly large sales the end of last month which apparently pushed my compensation up to > $0.40/click. That lasted about a week - then, instead of a gradual drop, it went straight back down into single digits ...

Pretty easy to find a substitute merchant for most new items, but unfortunately it's next to impossible to find another program where you can promote certain types of vintage/antique/used merchandise.

Getting killed in collectibles niches in which I have a footprint; it's mind-blowing because I have major quality traffic (I actually sell directly to the site traffic sometimes, so I know it's good.) Trying to come up with options, because I don't want to exit that market but it's difficult to find a marketplace with anywhere near the volume eBay has.

I haven't been using eBay that long but I like the new system. So far it is slightly better and I like the consistency.

Agree, this program is now

garbage..its all to the to the benefit of ebay.They have constucted the new system in the mold of AFF which uses a hybrid click quality program to cheat 1000s of publishers out of their earnings.So in other words if you have a day or a period of traffic "not up to there standards" they lower the click rate and/or keep the money owed you by declaring that "your traffic was substandard". The advantage of this system is it is always possible to cheat you out of your money by alleging the traffic was no good.Since you can never prove the counterfactual..if you even knew what there test was !......you lose.Lets say your traffic was good for 2 months[in there opinion] but there was a bad day...your ppc goes from say .20/click to 1 cent/click .In case you are thinking they don't do this ..yes ,they do..Next step in the scam...wait a month [while you only pay 1 cent click] ,then terminate publishers for "low traffic quality' and keep earnings owed when click rate was higher,or better yet keep publisher @ 1 cent..and wait till balance payment is near due .[traffic "problems" always seem to appear after you start making any money ]then terminate and keep money...free ads for them all the time.!.LOL... If you would like to see the numeros complaints alleging what I decribed go to the official epn discuss board on ebay.BTY You will also see the exact same complaints about AFF affiliate programs on adult forums..and at least aff tells you what the conversion ratio is ..Hmmm wonder where they got the idea?. Ebay is now the most merchant unfriendly site on the net.Between tilting all the advantages to the buyers on the auction site [100,000s of thousands of complaints in the blogispher] and turning epn into a ebay wins -you lose program. .This whole scam is based on a flawed concept.... that publishers can control who clicks on ads...Don't buy into this guilt trip....why bother?You are better off just running ppc ads from a big ad company.they show ebay ads too and they pay them a lot more than 1 cent a click....ebay can't mess with the big guys and you will still get the same thing ;1 cent or more a click after the ad company takes there cut...with a lot less worries about losing money owed...It's not worth the trouble !!

so far the movement to make an alternative to ebay popular seems like its been limited to sellers who post on powersellersunite.com
unfortunately none of the auction sites seem comparable maybe now that ebay is on the bad side of website developers a good lasting alternative will finally break out

transparency has always been, is and will be a problem with affiliate model.

technology is there to support it, but the incentive for these networks to share that information is not there.

you can have metrics to "guesstimate" but the ultimate solution is to diversify your revenue streams

I send thousands of visitors to eBay each week through the EPN, let me tell you, Ebay Partner Network is nothing more than a scam in my opinion. Even with all of this huge traffic they still only pay pennies and not only that I can almost guantee you that they are not reporting all of the sells either.

I have been working exclusively online for years and it's easy for me to smell a rat, and EPN stinks to high-heaven.

My advice is that everyone drop them like a bad habit and stop wasting your time and effort.

I was dubious at first (see earlier posts) but it's actually working out well for me overall. No major complaints.

I stopped with them when they left CJ. I was making some good money with them then too. Like more than a few hundred/month. But I only saw big future problems with them having their own program. So I'm glad I avoided them.

I've seen better payouts through CJ affiliates than directly to ebay or amazon. This is purely based on my experience.. so many not apply to everyone.

You might try visiting the phpbaypro support forum and look up posts on QCT (Quality Click Tracking). It turns out there is often a ton of robot spam clicks which lower your scores. The QCT gives you code to add to htaccess to block much of it. It's not free, but very reasonable.

this program is

a blatant ripoff and an pervasive scheme to steal traffic by blaming the traffic conversion rate for non payment.. which is one of the oldest and least creative ripoff tricks in the fake affiliate program book.Someone should start thread with screen shots of no-pay clicks.I could post 5 years of questionable stats .including cj maybe 8 yrs. .Just today I took down a few more banners ..want to get to 0 with this program but I keep finding old ones I forgot ..sick of affiliate programs who don't pay.On the positive side I bought a bunch of Christmas and other items recently including 3 computers and the ass kissing by sellers is almost embarrassing [even for 2$ items]I got 2 of one item because shipping was delayed.I have no idea how sellers make money there.We know why that is ..Meg's no seller can leave feedback about buyers system opened up a sanctioned blackmail system of sellers and shifted the whole company to the- buyer- is -always- right even when they blackmail you and the seller and affiliate is always wrong .So make lemonade from a real lemon of a company.That's all I want to do ; buy stuff from their sellers .
