Name A Traffic Method.

HI All,

I think this could be a great thread if everyone posts one or more traffic methods they use or have tried.

I will start with my ideas.

1) Backlinks from other websites,
2) Build a mailing list to get repeat visitors.
3) Search engine traffic paid or free
4) Buy text links or banner ads,
5) Google ad words.
6) Sigs in forums,
7) Write articles, and submit them to article directories.
8) Submit your sites to link directories.
9) Use traffic exchanges
10) Buy expired domains with traffic (if you can find or afford them)
11) Write an ebook and give it away for free and have your site links in it
12) Sell something on ebay cheap and have a link to your site in the auction


Well that is a start..

Buying attractive domains is one idea
and base your site on some crazy idea that everyone would like......

1) Quality page content with good inclusion of appropriate Keyword.

2) A good Page Title on each page with Quality Keywords that are also relevant to the page.
( I see this so many times on peoples websites - short one or two word titles - this is a massive mistake IMO as Google LOVES a good Title)

3) Car Bumber or Window stickers with - yourwebsite.com - this is real cheap advertising to do but people are curious/nosy and many times will not be able to resist logging on and taking a peek ! :hehe: (we've just had 500 made to promote our town's website )

4) A keyword Rich domain name with appropriate ext

5) Use more than 1 domain - some companies have 15 or more pointing to their website.

What worked best for me was traffic from:

1. search engines
2. link exchanges
3. paid textlink on adbrite (only for certain sites, unfortunately)
4. community sites, e.g. Digg.com
5. traffic exchange based on pyramid model (see my sig)
6. my own network of websites

...in no particular order...

amcy.org is the master of PR announcements with anchored keyword links; seems to have worked for him.
