:hi:

I have read that drop time is 2pm EST for most extensions.

I have been trying to get a few names since 2pm that I know drop today.

I keep checking the whois and they all say they are TBR (to be released)

When should I give up? Any advice is appreciated.

There is a delay for the updating of whois... So it would be better to simply try to register them: I mean go to your favorite registrar and type in the dn to reg it. The whois doesn't reflect in realtime when it becomes available.

Other possibility:
Snapnames or Pool has catched them...

I was doing that, entering the names in to a register. They must have done that (the pool thing) because 3 out of 4 were gone just now.

At least I got one of them! It's a PR6 too! :yell:

What should I do with it? Should I just park it or should I develope and sell links and link to my own pages? What do you guys do?

Yes whois info is cached and not updated real-time.
Your best bet is to try to register it, registrars have direct connections with the registry. But all name are grabbed upon expiry these days, even to be cancelled a few days later.
Good luck.

Ok, I'll wait a few days and see but I doubt they will be let go. They were good names.

Don't forget that some companies are fortunate enough to be able to test them for traffic before they decide if they want it - If it looks like they were reg'd just check back in a week and you may be lucky ?? :)

Ok, thanks! I hope so! :)

Also...I'm developing that one site I managed to hand register. And it will be exactly about what it used to be about - septic tanks! :D
