.tv Dot Tv Nation has its own group now here at NamePros read about it here

Last night RJ asked me if I wanted a group for Dot Tv Nation, There are groups here at Np that one can join that are related to a special interest, like a tdnam buying group, or large portfolio owners or Rogue Writer is the leader of a group called Cyber Players and there is RadioNamepros and the Website Review Team. Well now there is a Dot TV Nation group.

To find groups, you click USER CP and look down the left hand column, you will see group memberships. http://www.namepros.com/profile.php?do=editusergroups In there you can click Join Group, you must be approved and then you are a part of that group. Once you are approved you will notice when you look at the forum that there is a private forum for group members, and a little icon or logo showing your membership to the group Look at the one they have for the Radio NamePros team for instance,

Now joining you should really be someone who is very interested in the the extension, you do not need to own premium .tv but you also should not be someone that wants to constantly harp on premium renewal feees, you should have more of a focus on long term investing and development. you should be someone where .tv is your focus not just a slight interest.

This was not my idea but seeing how some other groups on here exist I figured it would be cool for Dot Tv Nation to have a group when RJ asked.

We are getting such an increase in the number of developers it might be a useful place to talk 'new shop'.

It might also be nice to be able to reveal certain facts without our many hundreds of 'guests' (evil horrible corporate stealers) peering over our plans and ideas.

I'm in - or is it a case of 'I'd like to be in'?

Exactly Jimbo, it was one of the reasons that made sense to me was the guests situation. There are definitely people who come here that are from corps and you may not want your sales data for all to see, maybe you do.

This is a great idea, a wide variety of people have been coming to this board for a while, including domainers.

They may not want to acknowledge .tv but they are paying attention, make no mistake about it.

I've also wondered too who are all those "guests" in the .tv subforum. They are often like 80% of the total number of active users at a given time.

My guess would be that they could be anybody from .com domainers to developers to media companies and corporations.

Even if .tv has often been criticized, it's getting more and more difficult to ignore it.

This is good news and I would love to apply into group.

80 percent of my time on namepros I am mobi and having a difficult time in seeing this area on my blackberry on namepros.mobi. Will browse around more and see it again

I really hope this group and approval area is more geared towards positive things. I know some geo owners dislike each other, who has best better developments and then are a couple that continue to make there smirk remarks here in open forum on future of .tv and etc. No names mentioned by me.

Were all one big family and trying support .tv weather you own 5 .tv names, couple hundred, geo owners, the elite groups, developers and etc.

This is a good idea and hope I can get approved and learn more on .tv.

Video/interactive video is the future of the internet. Everyone here is astute enough to see that coming from a mile away. Where .com has its uses, .tv is connectivity. TV is the media of choice for most people, .tv will open up an unprecedented level of access and be instrumental in building the bridge from television to the internet. I think a lot of people will be surprised at this transition, but I would much rather be a part of this happening than be on the sidelines.

I appreciate the consideration for membership.

Ok, nothing has changed in the .tv subforum which has been the #1 source anywhere on the internet for everything related to .tv. People are posting like great I want to join to learn, you are and can learn here.

I am not an exclusionist, feel weird excluding any decent person. But the whole private board IMO cannot right off the bat be the whole .tv subforum or what is the point ? I believe people who are new should actually have to contribute some and spend some time here at NP before joining. You can still learn or post about whatever you like so no one is being impeded. A group is about people who no one another on at least a certain plateau. Argos, Searching,DomainAcrobat,Heroes,Tldnetworks etc all have some understanding of one another, and there are exceptions with new people such as Jimbo and MichaelDotCom who have contributed a lot. So if you have 1 or 2 posts here and no one really has any feel about you, you may need to wait a little to moving to the private board. I will take one new person in a week who has not really been here long and has posted nothing other than an appraisal, they will get in as a perk, and a new person each week. But I have people who have never posted on the forum asking to be in the private board. Words have meaning IMO things are private for a reason, and know no one is being harmed I cannot walk into a club that is private in the real world and people accept me right away when I have done nothing and to gain their trust and they know nothing about me except I want to join the club.

So if you do not get in right away it does not mean you will not get in.
