I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

Puro is Spanish for Pure..

And Puro is a well-known slang for Purolator:

The Trouble with Puro
https://www.trucknews.com/blogs/the-trouble-with-puro/

Not saying I'm necessarily right, only that Spanish words don't mean a lot in Canada, as compared to the US, and the first time I saw the term I thought of Purolator. It could be linked to Purolator in some way, maybe speculation or cheap brand protection, like Tim Hortons and Tims.

This is true. I wouldn't be surprised they started picking up speed..they got real popular in years of late with our friends to the South. Good to keep an eye on.

I never knew this till you said it- thanks! And yeh its the first result on the Google.

Was this inbound or outbound?

any details plz

Puro is Spanish for Pure..

Its a beauty name actually.. nice job @hxp

It could also be a domain upgrade for Puro Olive Oil: http://www.oliopuro.ca/

Thanks guys!

Yeah, it was an outbound sale to Olio Puro.

It was a pretty easy sale in terms of having to convince the buyer. Because, he could see the value in owning his shorter, exact-match domain. But, it took some time for the buyer to trust me and come to an agreement on the price.

Almost certainly Purolator.

Puro in google search comes up purolator in the number 1 slot.

Great sale, nice to see money change hands but I would not have sold it under 5k

Sorry... did not see that

Exact match business hit.... 10k is my minimum sale

Next time explain to the client the costs can be written off 100% in their advertising account and be completely tax deductible. It's an easy sell when the company sees how little it costs.

In this case the company got a sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet deal.

Has anyone here dealt with MyID support?
I made a small sale to a reseller and it seems like they just don't want to provide me the Auth Code. I have mailed them twice (and they have seen both the emails), left a message through their support page and even tried calling them (goes to voicemail).
Buyer is a nice person otherwise if it was an end user I could have lost a sale.
Domain is older than 80 days. So that shouldn't be a problem.
I might try contacting CIRA now as they've mentioned on their page that if a registrar fails to provide Auth Code under 5 Calendar days we can reach CIRA directly.

Thanks for letting us know about the problem. I have started to use them for backorders so the lack of support.

MYID you are under the microscope if you're here.

Yikes!!!

I’ve never even heard of MyID....

Guess I’ll just crawl back under my rock ...

Personally, if it was me I would be picking up the phone and giving them an earful.

Imagine you have a 10k sale and you cannot release a name. There is no excuse to take days to do this simple task. It should be automated so you can get your code at any time.

I'd be moving my domains.... I transferred almost 100 domains from 3 different registrars to godaddy this weekend and every registrar had an automated system and I got the codes in seconds.

The beauty of .ca is you can transfer really fast, that can sometimes be instrumental in a sale. As a wholesaler we need to rely on speed because customers can be fickle.

I find whc.ca has some transfer issues on .com's.... the ca's go smooth.
Canspace has issues because the transferred domains sit in my list until I complain and they remove them. I transfer a domain and it shows in two places which is confusing.

I finally gave up and paid for godaddy discount club. I'm keeping everything in one place. I'll still buy when the $2 sales come but I will transfer to godaddy when they come due.

I tried to create an account there one time and it just wouldn't let me - their drop-catching service seems to be excellent, but their website is extremely archaic and it's like you just stepped back into 1997.

I registered on the site and they want a copy of my drivers license to bid on a domain there. I said nooooo way. So all you guys that have domains there.... I bid big money but not on that platform!!!

9 times out of 10 if I don't catch a name, they got it.

I would do that if they answered the call.
They are pricey but they do catch a lot of decent domain names hence I went for their service in the past. However I never anticipated such a problem would pop up.
After trying calling them again I ended up dropping CIRA a mail describing the situation and requesting Auth Code..

Myid has great domain pricing and they catch a lot of TBR’s but their customer support needs a lot of work. I have had to email them 2 and 3 times on many occasions just to get a response. I’m guessing only 1 person works in that area of myid. All the rest work on TBR! lol

Namespro is my favourite when it comes to user interface, and customer support. Most times I get a response within a couple of hours.

Damn

I just lost male.ca from TBR

Who was the lucky bastard that got it?

No idea on the price, or if it might be an auction domain, but male.ca went 12th to Sibername so if anyone bid on it there, look it up.

I thought it would go a bit higher, but you never know who's bidding on these, as stuff like climatechange.ca, playin.ca, and dayspa.ca all went in the Top 10.

Unfortunately, the reason behind this influx of premium domains may not be as positive, as I'm pretty sure at least 2 longtime Canadian domainers have died and this influx is their stock slowly expiring and being sent to TBR.
