a year ago almost to the day, oakridge.ca sold for $10,000 usd.
Oakridge is a shopping mall in an affluent area undergoing a massive renovation with highrise accomodations. I agree Ridgeway is a great catch at reg fee as are so many other .ca's sitting dormant.

strange that someone would lay down that much money for a name and just tuck it away and not use it.

Blackface is dropping this coming week! Any takers???

Could make for an interesting informational site. The tabooness has reached new heights in absurdity. BB& Beyond pulled their black pumpkins after someone complained on their display

I think what’s absurd is how SOFT we have become as a society. Everyone is “offended” all of a sudden! Society needs to put on some big boy pants and grow up!

On a side note, I think if blackface had dropped just a little sooner, maybe the Conservatives could have used that to their advantage and got that POS from winning again!

Ridgeway is a popular GEO/business term and I just plain missed the word Remembrance in the list.

Words like Concert, Musk, Angelina, Bogus, etc, that went in the Top 20 are better, as are some others that went later on, but I didn't miss any of those.

Haha sorry, the correct answer to my question about what was special about those domains was:

They were both registered by me...

I thought maybe you had noticed that too... :)

But on the serious side, neither will be any huge sale to write home about, but definitely worth more than the reg fee.

Nope, I was just going through the TBR list looking for domains that (for whatever reason) I missed the first time.

Good pickups though, especially ridgeway.ca.

I think what’s absurd is how SOFT we have become as a society. Everyone is “offended” all of a sudden! Society needs to put on some big boy pants and grow up!

The primary reason is that social media is controlled by the unemployable, the mentally ill, the addicted, the extremely young, etc. who post all day and night, while the rest of the world works and takes care of their family.

Companies are catching on to this (like the NFL) and are slowly understanding that all these malcontents whining about something this meaningless, really amounts to approximately 2 dead flies.

What's most amusing is that a single person complains about black-face pumpkins and the store removes them from their shelves nationwide, yet after MILLIONS of Canadians (and also worldwide) complained about a black-face Prime Minister, he's still in office.

Another big week of over 9K domains, but again driven by a HUGE pile of LLLL domain drops (~1K), just like last week.

I hope whoever "mass-invested" in these made a few sales.

Finally, another .CA hits the Sedo Weekly Sales List and it's actually a killer branding move by a realtor.

Another .CA Sale!

And it's also a 4-letter that starts with "A" so maybe the mass-LLL investor got some cash out of it...

Finally got a hold of someone and received the code, but the automated system is definitely not working.

Only $2k but it is a rare name, little demand, so I'd say a nice sale still. But definitely a smart move for the realtor.

Definitely, and this guy is set up for branding for life. It's a perfect move in today's market.

The To Be Released (TBR) Weekly .CA Picks for October 30 are now online:

The .CA TBR numbers continue to increase, but the overall quality level is still nothing special, likely due to the stockpile (and subsequent release) of another pack of random LLLL names. The overall number of single-words did take a big jump, but the LLL supply and quality are both extremely low. Even so, the sheer number of 1-word domains was so high that we still managed to compile a Top Picks List that includes...

Get BlackFace.ca before Justin Trudeau does!

I'm taking a lot of inquiries on 4 letters ending in "r"

There seems to be be renewed interest in these type of shorter names.
One domain had 3 inquiries in the last 2 weeks but they all ran when they heard the 5k asking price.

Any recommendations for cheapest .ca registrar?
Of the four that I been dealing with this last year, (maybe not the cheapest but less of a learning curve for me especially hosting/setting up landing pages/redirects) is Namespro/ca
Only downfall that I found was transferring from GoDaddy takes awhile.
Just my experience

So far, Montage.ca looks really hot across some of the TBR registrars - anyone on MyID got some trends for us?

Talking about MyId...

I keep checking there for BuyNows that are at least in the ballpark, no luck on any purchases there to date.
Right now I just check the buy nows because I can't be bothered to get into time consuming negotiations.

The To Be Released (TBR) .CA Results & Leftovers for October 30 have been served:

The number of expired .CA domains increased for the seventh week in a row, with our single-word supply jumping dramatically. Conversely, there was only a trio of 3-letter domains (all low-end) so it wasn't all wine and roses. The TBR results stayed relatively static and shifted down slightly from 104 to 101 selections, which was higher than we envisioned (especially without the Mills Family domains to kick around), and some of the notable Top 10 picks included...

Did Trudeau Really Snag BlackFace.ca?

dammit! fastwebserver picked up montage for someone. the lucky sob sniped my bid at the last second, and because fastwebserver's webserver is off by like 10 seconds, they closed bidding before the stated time and my attempt to re-sniping it back got rejected... ugh. If a server is off by that much time in a world where servers easily (and by default) resync themselves to world clocks several times a day, I think that must be done on purpose.

IMO that was the only domain in tbr worth more than reg fees (at least that I noticed).

So fastwebserver's webserver is actually about 10 seconds fast. I guess that is only logical...

Are you sure? My translations say that NamesPro got it, or maybe FWS was buying time with their servers?

IMO that was the only domain in tbr worth more than reg fees (at least that I noticed).

I would have taken Montage, Scone, or Electrum.
