Hi, felow domainers, I want to alert you about ecommerce_guru.

We all here try to make decent deals, all who know me, must remember I never tried to scam and deny any help and support after get the payment. I also remember I refund twice because couldnt get the right wp licence because the wp theme seller changed the price and refund me. I could dont tell about it to my buyers but I told and made refund.. And I helped to setup all sites I sold..
So, I know what does it mean to sell the site and know that the seller has to help..

Ok, now I tell you what did ecommerce_guru.
I asked him to sell me the theme/design of phsp.net, the site he was selling then..
He told me his price and I decided to check it again..
Resulted it was paid cms lavarel.com
I told to ecommerce_guru I have no idea how to use it and it seems to be paid licence, but I cared just to get the site design and if I get licence problem I always could later to buy original files.
ecommerce_guru knew I wanted the site design, not hacked/pirated lavarel.com cms files.
I paid him and gave him 2 domains and he sent me files+db
The db had some problem, my host team told they had no rights and asked me to make the db again.
I told it to ecommerce_guru and he was lying the whole month and finally I never got any correct DB.
Finally he told it was not his problem and he sent me all files.
So, I got nothing absolutly, just non-licence (pirated) php files of lavarel cms and not working mysql db.

I opened a dispute on Pyapal, and maybe they just didnt understand me because I just got thier answer which has no sense for me, so I will call them tomorrow and ask to reopen the dispute and recheck it.
I just wanted to alert you, dont make any deal with this scammer, he doesnt care about the deal after get the payment.
I attach our chats here, you can read them.
This guy stole my 45$ and 2 domains, because they were given him as part of payment for something I never got.

To be honest, I cannot tell if the template is pirated. If it was, you knew and still wanted to purchase so can't blame him.

The DB issue has to do with switching from a dedicated to a shared environment. Nothing to do with the seller.

In his defense, he offered to fix it. Matter of seconds would have done the job. I get why PayPal decided in sellers favor.

He just offered to make the time pass.
I wanted db, not just a few pirated php.
He even didnt plan to help, see how many many times I asked him and got got no answer.

He offered to fix it, but never did it.

I can't speak to the code as I haven't seen it, but after reading the transcript it appears @ecommerce_guru went above and beyond to try to accommodate your requests within reasonable means.

Maybe it's not too late to edit/delete your post, and re-approach @ecommerce_guru when you're more calm and collected with a different demeanor. It appears he wants, or wanted to assist, but you wouldn't allow him a quick fix and asked more than what was thought to be required of him when he first agreed to YOUR haggled request. Not sure how much he'll want to help after he seeing this...

It's in the info you posted. You can create a new user that would only have privileges to the database you will be using for your new site. He doesn't need access to your full hosting account.

It's very common to go this route if you sell a site and offer to install it for the buyer on another hosting account.

He was trying to solve the issue for you but you don't want to cooperate. You probably lost all goodwill the second you opened a dispute.

The host support team couldn upload db and he will be able to do it?
Login into my host will not solve nothing.
Pay attention, I was asking about any update about the issue and he was ignoring me, he just didnt want to do nothing.
He was was at least try to make m new db, or contact my host and ask them what they need.
He just was lying during 3 weeks knowing he will never solve it.
If I would write I wanted to cancel cae deal, he would never answer all my messages.

Guys, case was so clear and didn't take PayPal long to close his dispute in my favor.

To cut the story short:
I have created a thread here to sell a website (which includes files, design, and database). The description was so clear and you can view here:

After payment i have submitted all files as promised, all extracted from the working website. later he asked for help to install the database due to technical issues he faced, i have replied that i can do this without issues just provide me with FTP or cPanel details so i can do that for you, buyer declined (attached screenshots for all conversations proving my response). i even contacted his technical support on his behalf (although that was not in the scope) but we could not reach a fix. i have contacted buyer again to grant me any type of access to solve his problem which is (server related and has nothing to do with the actual site i sold him) but still declined (attached). So after all he ask for a refund while he is having a copy of all site files and database! i did my part completely as per the agreement.

Just tell me, how a person can help without having any type of access? HOW can i fix or upload the database to your host without actually accessing it?

I am still offering my help, i can do it with an access you can provide to your host (ftp and phpmyadmin).

again and again, database is clean and working just fine (it was exported from a working site for god sake). and you keep saying pirated !! you claim things you probably don't understand!

What I have observed is that too often people who engage a service or buy a good for the lowest prices often expect the most service.

Here it seems obvious that buyer knew he was getting something other than the expensive original themes from the original developer. I agree that whatever he got must work or else it’s useless but seems he knew what he was getting into.

I didnt make him create a theme or spend his time on me. I wanted something what I finally didnt get. If the deal is not possible to complete, it is need to cancel it. All these files worth nothing without db.
And I pay your attention the seller even didnt try to help, and my last "any updates?" were even not responded.
I wanted db, its cleary.

I just downloaded the database and tried to import to a basic shared hosting environment which didn't work. It's an easy fix though. Redump the database or make some adjustments to it. Or give the seller access to your MySQL.

The database it solid, it's just a permission issue.

That being said, the DB dump provided by @ecommerce_guru will most probably give issues to anyone trying to import it to a shared hosting account so that speaks in favour of OP.

Seller does offer to help but needs to gain access. So you know... I'm starting to feel this is more of a communication issue.

I never told he just planned to to grab money and desappear.
Its not the issue of communication, he just decided not to care about complete the deal.
Again.. he even stop to pay attentiin on my messages..

I opened dispute on Paypal 10 days ago and the seller knew it.
He could contact me and try to help or at least tell "I still didnt solve it".
But he even didnt asnwer me via Paypal dispute.
He still could try to resend me the db after I opened the dispute.

He didnt care when I was writing him here via chat asking about any update in solving the problem.
After I told him I wanted to cancel the deal, he still could tell something, and just then he recognized there will be no any help and he completed his part in the deal.
He still could just resend me the dbnow instead of answer here.
But he has no intention to solve nothing.

The mysql interface is the same, so he also could make all he wanted inside his own mysql and resend me the correct db, or send me video what and how to do.

This is not a casino and we dont play roullette..its not the deal where I pay and get "surprise in a sack".
I buy something and if the deal cant be complete we just cancel the deal..
Every one of you 100% had the same issue with some bought item, I mean real product such as gadget or whatever else..we buy and sometimes bring it back to the store is somethng doesnt match..

The seller didnt waste his time, I never made him to work for me,,he had the product I wanted, finally he couldnt provide me that product or bettter say he had no wish to provide me that product, so then cancel the deal and refund..

I paid for something he couldnt provide me..
The deal was files+db+basic help..
he got 45$ and for this money he could dedicate me at least 30 min or 1 hour..
but he never did it..

Hey Mayazir, I can emphasize with how you are feeling - I have (& prob many on this thread) been in a situation & felt the panic of feeling like you didn't get what you paid for.

It's especially concerning when is a tech issue - anything database related - is a big tech issue to most. So, getting upset and losing trust in the seller is a natural reaction - especially in online buys.

But, a deep breath & maybe even a post to this forum asking if someone understood or could explain what you got from the seller a little earlier on, when you were not so upset - may have helped a bit quicker.

• 3. would it make sense for any NP member (in good standing) to destroy their reputation over a relatively small amount? (relatively - not really fair as $ has different meaning to different people).

When it has mentioned there are permission issues - what they are saying is there are setting inside your CPannel &/or Files that is set more restrictive/differently than the extracted database can be set for.

There is a big difference in set up, customization, & security setting between private hosting & shared (like most of us have).

Many times (IMO) techy people assume buyers have experience buying other websites, PHP scripts, or Codecanyon type stuff, where you have done this set up a handful of times. Many of these things - like permissions - are not easy for most but so simple to those that a familiar (once you go through this - you will be an expert too, it not bad).

It really seems like communication mix up and if you can set up a username & password (make a new & temp) to your ftp (delete it after he is done). In a few minutes he will likely be able to fix the permissions and your DB will load & you will be in business.

Just wanted to let you know that there are many who have been in the same spot, it makes sense. But if you can give the seller just the access he needs - you may be able to get this resolved - the way you need it to be.

I hope you are able to give the seller 1 last, fair, chance to resolve - and seller I hope you think what I said is fair.

DnameAgame, thanks for your words, but lets to reason..
The problem is with mysql, not with files, so the seller doesnt need any FTP access.
I could give FTP access, its not a problem, and I am not a newbie in site building, so I know how to give FTP access.
I cant give access to my mySQL because there are all db and I dont want to risk, and I dont get the point why he needs access to there..
All mySQL interface is the same, so he could make all editions and corrections using his own host..
Or just make video of how he is solving this problem..
He also could contact awardspace host team and explain them what to do.
I cant believe awardspace host support team couldnt import the db if the issue was so easy..
But I never got any alternative from the seller..
There is no need in FTP, because the issue is with mySQL import of db..

We've been trying to import your MySQL dump file into mayazir_campeche for the past 1 hour or so. The server keeps returning the following response:

ERROR 1227 (42000) at line 29: Access denied; you need (at least one of) the SUPER privilege(s) for this operation

It turns out that the DEFINER directive is not supported on our Shared hosting platform. Therefore, we kindly ask you to remove all DEFINER directives in your .sql file (code), and then provide us with the new file. Here's more information regarding the ERROR 1227 (42000) error:
