12,000 children have been trafficked into cocoa farms in Cote D'Ivoire
When we buy chocolate we are being forced to be oppressors ourselves as we have no guarantee that the chocolate we eat is 'traffik free'..

Nearly half the world's chocolate is made from cocoa grown in the Cote D'Ivoire, in Africa.

STOP THE TRAFFIK is calling for people everywhere of all ages to force the chocolate companies to give a guarantee that their chocolate is Traffik Free. Will they commit to print a 'Traffik Free Guarantee' on chocolate bars so we can choose to buy chocolate that is not made through trafficked labour.

I ussualy eat swiss and german made chocolate...I think that`s traffic free. But I don`t think that it does matter or not if we eat chocolate made by traffic children...it woldn`t even count for those traffiker if 10 or 20 name pros posters stop eating chocolate

I've never been a big chocolate eater so it's easy for me to "just say no" ;)

When you think of it, child labor is widespread thruout the world.. be hard to eradicate it completely because so many countries, economies, and cultures depend so heavily on it.

So much for Geman and Swiss Chocolate, they are tainted(of child labor) like the US imports.

2 companies to boycott because of child labor and chocolate are:
Nestle and Archer Daniels Midland(which has its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland)

Cocoa beans used to make chocolate come from different farms in different areas of Cote d'Ivoire. The beans are mixed together in transport to importing countries and also in the processing factories. Consequently, there are no solid data reflecting the possible amount of cocoa beans in the world market that are tainted by slave labor. Since it is nearly impossible to differentiate between cocoa beans harvested by child slave labor and coca beans picked by free labor, there is no way to distinguish between chocolate products associated with forced child labor either.

While you guys are at it, stop wearing clothes, pumping gas, buying products made in countries such as Mexico, China, and so on. All of these industries have their problems and it has to be taken care of where it's going down. It's just like these stop pumping gas for a day things - they don't work.

I respect ya tons Gridley, but the problem has to be addressed where it occurs. You're better off spending the time trying to contact the proper officials and bringing publicity to the issue.

Well, as I stated above.. even that won't work unless people in general are even aware of the issue. Not to mention, people aren't about to give up their vices or luxuries anyway, sad fact of life, even for a day.
