How long does it take for DomainTools to update your whois information? I updated mine, and every other whois service I've checked shows the new correct information, but domaintools hasn't updated yet.

I have seen tons of threads on NamePros about complaints regarding their questionable tactics in profiting from sales of our private information. I too am upset by this and was wondering if there was a way to make them remove my domain cache and history from them. I don't mind if a company shows my current accurate whois, but I don't like what DT is doing.

I think it depends on TLD and registrar.

On GD, my .tv's take two or three days, .com is updated almost instantly (hand regs).

When I had domains at Yahoo, it often took days.

It can take up to 2 to 72 hours for the information to be updated in Whois Lookup tools like DomainTools! But usually the information is updated very quickly!

Actually I think this question doesn't depend on the registrar you keep domains with!

It is very likely that DomainTools is showing you Cached data if you checked your whois at DomainTools.com Before the change was made.

You can either check with a different browser or simply wait a couple days and the cache will go away.

You could also have somebody verify the info for you if you are seeing cached data.
