question Domain transfer time

I clicked on buy it now and purchased a domain name that was in someone else’s Godaddy account listed for sale on GoDaddy’s Afternic.

How long does the domain transfer take to arrive into my GoDaddy account?

I asked a live GoDaddy agent and they said upto 14 days.

Does not make any sense.

My payment went directly to GoDaddy.

Should be instant transfer.

If it was a fast-transfer domain, then the transfer should happen automatically once the payment is verified. Otherwise, it will be a manual push.

They can’t just move a domain from someone’s account to a buyer’s without the fast-transfer setup and pre-approval from the actual owner, especially since anyone can go and list a GoDaddy-registered domain that do not own on Afternic ...

2 weeks would have been pretty fast but 24 hours is way better. Once, I bought a domain at a register and had to wait 3 weeks for a push. The issue I had is it was register locked but that's rare.

Yeah, it should usually take 1–5 days. If it’s been longer, try following up with support to speed it up.
