Domain Trading Idea

I am about to get a group together to build a site that allows people to trade a domain for a domain. There will be a small fee per trade. Has anything like this been done before, any service of this sort, if so let me know so I don't waste my time spending a month or so on this project.

Zuho.com did domain swaps (site appears to be currently offline). Haven't heard much about them in a few months though... No clue if they're still in business.

Yes great idea. I would not have a problem with the fee, especially when you know its going to bring you peace of mind with the transfer.

sounds like a great idea.... i do think a fee would turn people off as well..... maybe you could at least wait a bit to get people to use the service and tweak it then start charging a minimal upkeep fee or something..... get em hooked, then charge.

A reliable domain trading service would be nice. On the forums you have a lot of people in different niches who aren't aware of the value of any domain outside their niche. I wish there was a way to trade domains here, or even a domain trading escrow service where money did not change hands.

not sure it will work

swapnames got abused by snapnames and had their name took via threats
they then changed name as Reece said to zuho which just didnt cut it

also people just want to swap their crap with your good names so just get's tiresome.
shame as nice idea but in reality it won't work. sorry to be negative, just being realistic, plus people won't pay

Good idea but personally, I wouldn't pay the fee to do it.
