So - they couldn't do the job they said they'd do for you - couldn't bring the buyers in - - - but now they want to profit when/if someone else can do it ?
I guess they're hurting after the dismal results of the last auction? Have to recoup it somewhere? j/k

ya ya .. they'er just enforcing their contract - but it's still chicken spit on their part.

I'm glad you made this public - we all need to know things like this!

Agreed, I did sign the contract they failed to sell and I am obligated for x number of days.

It appears that DT do not have simliar restrictions? If so then most definitely everybody needs to be aware of this and take it in to account when submitting to the various auctions in the future as the success of this one will most definitely spawn similar events with different restrictions, perhaps a sticky giving a comparison of the restrictions imposed by the different auction houses :?

I am happy to accept an agreement but if it is for the period of the auction only or a few days after- wot say you :?

It was a poor auction for me - 0/7

I do think the lack of many live bidders hurt many of the domains. I did see quite a few steals. Although Im dissapointed, I am happy for everyone who did well. Congrats to all - NameTrader, Yofie, Sharon, Adoptable, Devil Dog, and everyone else who had a sale from NamePros. Well done!

Justin

Much appreciative of the time you took to update the thread and crunch numbers for folks. If that were me, we'd all be confused.

Rep will definitely be coming your way.

well, I had 5 listings of 9 domains. Sold one (PhotographyGear.com) for $3,300 and purchased one (VacantHouse.com) for $1,050. I made more than I spent, so I guess that's a good day at domaining.

I hope the guy doesnt have a stroke before the end of the auction! Good Gawd watching him makes me exhausted.

I think the auctioneer did a great job considering this was his first domain auction, he spoke very clearly and showed some knowledge about the domains he was auctioning off...It was a rough start sure, but he adapted quickly, give the guy some credit.

I watched some of the auction... I fell asleep at the computer around lot 8x. lol... Congrats to all the sellers. :)

I really thought that there were going to be more people live over there. They had a huge room and there were many seats left. I enjoyed the video feed... it was a lot more interesting than plain old audio alone.

I fell asleep just about 15 mins before my domain paper.info was auctioned and woke up to find that it had sold but had not received any new bids since the pre-bid....so I guess I didn't miss any action.

PS Looks like bidding is still open for those domains that did not receive any bids.

Some of you guys (and gals) did very well a the auction. I'm sincerely happy for you and wish a congrats to you all!

That was not the case for me, however. Neither Copies.com, Character.com, Mechanism.com or Pains.com received any interest. Maybe the reserves were too high, but I am far better off not selling rather than selling for a low ball price that I would regret (Plus, Kinkos has recently shown interest in copies.com.) That's life, and am not all that disappointed. You can't go into these types of events with high expectations, or you are destined for some disappointment.

My wife and I attended personally, and I have to agree with Justin, there was not many bidders at all. In fact, it seemed at times that no one was paying any attention to the auction. That did frustrate me a bit since I felt like we were promised more. Not like Jay can make people attend or anything, but being a "first" probably had a lot to do with it. Not at all what I expected. Still fun though!

Talked with Sahar a bit. That was a highlight for me! As good of a guy in person as he seems from his blog.

An auction is not only sellers, it's also buyers!
As a buyer I enjoyed this auction because nobody bidded for the unique name I was really motivated to purchase.

...

Yes the video was showing an auction room almost empty.
Now it was possible to bid online so I guess a lot prefered to participate this way.
(I persist saying the day christians celebrate Mary - August 15th is not the best date).

...

Regarding Sahar, he was seen a pair of times in the video between a man and a woman, maybe he was Jiode and his wife.
I supposed he will go for the funeral name and at a moment I wanted to make him a joke serioulsy bidding on this name. I refrained thinking the joke will maybe only appreciated by the seller.

So, all in all the auciton wasnt a complete loss, BUT - I recieved the same offer without a 10% fee - lol. So, not exactly what I had hoped for.
