How long they will leave the auctions "without bids" open ?

I've noticed they have very little information about the whole process. Granted we're not physically there, but I would have thought if a name closed live without a bid, that was it and the name was no longer open. Instead, they close the ones WITH bids and leave the ones WITHOUT bids open (I'm guessing until midnight or something?)...very weird.

They are kept open because they will go back to some of them, especially those that get internet bidding activity in the meantime.

So basically, from my understanding, if it's still open, people can still bid on-line.

BudgetProperty.com just sold for $8450 ... unbelievable considering its very low keyword numbers and also being it's currently listed with a $1140 (** correction: appears that's a min offer, not bin, but think I've seen a similar bin somewhere for it) on Afternic. I must be missing something with that name ... perhaps it was the excitement of the bidding

Hi NameTrader,

It's actually not weird at all.

Remember, unlike other domain auctions this one starts with bids AT the
reserve price not below the reserve.

So if a bid is made then the reserve is automatically met and the domain is Sold! to the highest bidder even if there's only a single bid.

I think it's great (very smart) that bids are left open for the unsold domains. This gives us all another chance to both buy and/or sell.
