Now you have to compare the reserve with the domain. High quality name priced too high and lower quality name price more reasonably might change some of the voting from just like or don't like votes. I wondered why they had the option to unvote.

I agree, I voted on the name + the reserve price, Some are carrying heafty reserves that wont even come close to making thier reserve price, that is a waist of time for the bidders, And makes the auction a tedious process, imo

Well it doesn't seem to be liked, more bad votes than good. I never even knew it was on there, I've been busy and not online much.

I don't understand some of the bad votes on a lot of those names. One word generics etc. and people are voting bad.

And why are there .eu names? I was shocked to see them since they only wanted .com's and .net's I thought.

WeatherPredictor.com dropped from #432 - 430 today.... and I did not change the reserve.

The original rules stated:

1. Only dotcom domains. (Very few exceptions will be made)

However, it does say exceptions may be made. Also, in the blog, some mention as made by DT that some .eu and .cc might be accepted. I have a pair of .cc that are marked "eligible" on my list of submissions, but they have not yet made it to the preliminary list. I submitted my best names in all TLD's just in case.

Currently, there are a couple each of .net, .org, .eu, and one each of .cc, .tv and .in. So far .us, .biz, and .info are closed out as far as a primary listing. I'd like to see at least 2-3 of each just for some variety...preferably mine.

It appears several domain names which are "younger" than 3 years have been put on the list. I think this rule is not as concrete if the domain is phenomenal.

It appears several names from 2000/2001 did'nt even make it past the robots because they were too new

I am allowing domains that have been registered before August 15th 2004 but they may not be showing that with the date you looked at. Those domains were picked up on drops and were previously registered prior to the date. You will need to recheck the history of those domains, don’t trust the current creation date.

We will be removing domains, so please watch.

It appears that this is the reason for fresher domains. And, with 3 Days left for the final cuts, Jay has said that names will be removed from the auction...

Alas, I know I have 1 hanging on for dear life, I hope all 7 Domains remain in the auction.

7 domains is an EXCELLENT RESULT Justin :tu: and I would be very suprised if dreamdesign did'nt get a new home !

I'd be chuffed to bits just to get one in mine still show the following.

Accepted - Nada !! :bah:


I'm really looking forward to see how this auction goes, they have some sweet names on there now.

Perhaps it's just not the right time.. I'd like to keep Magician.com and Magicians.com together. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for both me and the buyer. I don't know enough about the venue/organizers/etc. to risk them at a low reserve.

Also, I'm a bit attached to the domains!

UPDATE BY JAY: The domains will say Pending Review. We are not changing the status on domains until August 6th. Everything is open to Review until then. But you have a good chance at being in the auction if your status has changed to confirmed


Hmmm, it is a little bit confusing , one minute they are reviewing them and saying if its in or not, the next they are saying the list is not final and they won't be putting any comments in until the 6th.

Oh well....not long to wait now :hehe:
