Domain tasting?

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if there is a better domain tasting service (in other words a service that lets you try out a domain name for around 4 days) than Pool. The problem with Pool is that they require $250 up front, and then each domain that you wish to register with them costs $60.
I would much rather use a site that offered the same service but for less than $60 (which is quite a lot of money per domain name).

Any help would be greatly appeciated!
Thanks

Yes, Moniker allows you "delete" domains upto 4 days after it is registered with a $0.25 fee for each domain.

Thanks for the replies!
I am really looking for a place where I can *backorder* the domain name, and then test it out. I know both Pool and Moniker can do this but they both charge US$60 minimum for each domain name.

If you register a domain yourself, then delete it within 4 days - that's "tasting".
Using a backordering service isn't classed as "tasting" as you can't get a refund, no matter when you delete it. It's essentially just throwing money away.

I think 4domains.com allows you to backorder for $25 but there's no guarantee they'll actually be able to backorder a domain.

Use moniker.com for actual "tasting" - that's a 25 cent fee per domain but it doesn't include any backordering though. You have to register the domain yourself and you can only do that when it's available to reg.

Hey B33R,
Pool has its 'Catch and Release' scheme which allows people to backorder a domain name, test it (if you are successful in getting it), and then release it if you don't like it. So there is at least one service out there that can do this. I just hate their $60 fee and $250 up front, especially when chances are all the good expired domain names will be snapped up by the registrars themselves.

Does GoDaddy allow you to reg a domain, then if not happy, give back within 5 days?

I think you pay then cancel then they will refund your money but not a guaranteed refund.

if you want to be sure you would get a refund, i would use moniker or dynadot as mentioned above. as rsequin mentioned, a refund at godaddy is not guaranteed.

Moniker is great for tasting we often taste hundreds of names per month with them.

Tell me more about you experience with Pool's service please

Can you actually buy domains just to reserve if it's good? Then return it? Just so that if you get it appraised it won't get taken lol

Are you sure? They charge me one dollar for any returned domain. I pay 6.95 for DN.
How can I pay just $0.25 for tast?
Anybody can help me?

The only thing guaranteed with GoDaddy is Bob Parson's self inflated ego and love of self.
