The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com and it was a truly phenomenal week. Brushing off a plunging stock market and the threat of an economic recession, domain buyers made the most five-figure or higher purchases we have ever seen in a single week. We typically have 20-25 sales reported in that range each week but in the past 7 days that number tripled. A $115,000 sale heads our new Top 20 all extension leader board while a $52,000 .net sale tops our Global Contenders list. The country codes also had a great week, in fact we saw the two biggest ccTLD sales of 2007 - one involving a German .de domain, the other a Swedish .se. You can read all about it here: DNJournal.com Weekly Domain Sales Report
We have some other DN Journal news to tell you about this week. Today we published a report on the first major country specific domain conference ever held - UK DomainChannel, an event that was conducted earlier this month in London, England. I was in Los Angeles covering the Domainfest Global conference when the UK show was running, but free lance writer Debbi Williams was in London and sent us her report on this groundbreaking event devoted to Great Britain's .co.uk extension:
UK DomainChannel Charts New Course With First Country Specific Domain Conference in London
Meanwhile, the Spanish language market continues to be one of the hottest sectors in the domain business. Sedo's Director of Spanish and Latin America Markets, Antonio Marza, just did a report for us on the explosive world of Spanish domains.
