BEWARE OF THIS SELLER! He recently listed some of these domain names on no-reserve Sedo auction, and solicited on Namepros for people to bid. I won two of these and paid Sedo last week for them. But he apparently wasn't happy with the sales price and is now trying to sell them again here. If you read his Namepros feedback, you'll see that breaking his commitments isn't new to him. Note his feedback such as "Would not pay for the $3 domain he won in the auction. SELLERS BEWARE" and "Did Not Pay For NP Auction - Does not Respond to PM".

For example, here is where he sold 787.us just last week: http://www.sedo.com/auction/index.php?language=us&auction_id=19651 . And now he is trying to sell it again through this thread and other threads. His asking price here is just $28 per domain more than my winning bids. Is that all your integrity (and your Sedo account) are worth to you, Clowesy?

I have not received any notice from Sedo that the auction results have been canceled, nor have I received a refund of the hundreds of dollars I paid to Sedo for 2 of the domains he has listed here.

Think before you speak. Find out the truth before posting. This is what was sent to the mod on DNF. I will reiterate, I didnt cancel the auctions SEDO did.
I also posted on NP saying I'd honour the winning bids, if they contact me and verified they had won. No-one did, your fault not mine.

"Hello NameTrader,

The names were sold on SEDO auction, but the deals were cancelled by SEDO not me because.
The reason was at the end of the auction the SEDO site was down and I pointed this out to my SEDO rep. We had a little discussion, but rather than extend them or whatnot he cancelled them, or at least said he was going to cancel them.

I already posted this at NP as I was led to believe all the winners were from there. I am not a scammer, as my TR shows (I am a very reputable member at DNF, Namepros highlights my past, not my present...) .

It is not a case of me not getting what I wanted for them, and just cancelling them, I appreciate that it was my choice to put them on SEDO no reserve. What I was unhappy about was the fact that potential bidders couldnt bid, and thus I lost out BECAUSE if SEDO.

Hope this is clear, and makes sense.
Please get back to me if anything needs clarification.
I will send this PM to HAX but apparently he is real quick to judge, and didnt wait for the reasoning before leaving a reputable mmber negative reputation....

Thanks
Tom"

Sorry, I didn't realize that when I win your no-reserve auctions in Sedo, I have to also track down a post you make to Namepros and request that you actually honor the sale.

One of the auctions I won (787.us) was extended due to a bid in the last 10 minutes. The other one (256.us) was extended twice due to last minute bids. This is documented in the bid history. It is amazing how that happened when (according to you) the site was down at the end.

Maybe you should read your your trader feedback more closely.

I'm sorry for being so harsh, but I tried notifying you nicely first when you tried selling the domains in the DotUS board here. Then you just went and started new sales threads in other sections. Please just wait until this issue is resolved before selling the domains. When a domain name is in contention, the solution is *NOT* to just pawn it off to someone else as fast as you can without disclosing the issue.

I have written Sedo to ask what is going on. The last I heard from them was that I had won, and I already paid their invoice for the domains.

Tom , You're not posting any PROOF the Auctions were cancelled by Sedo though ......

Where is the proof ?

Any response? (And a small "Boo-Hiss" to Sedo, if things are as Tom claims... If not, then a big "BooT" to Tommy, I s'pose.)

Better idea - sell the domains... no? PM'd Sedo's rep to see if they might weigh-in.

Why does noone listen to the counter argument.
What happened was Zona PMd me saying he couldnt access the SEDO site.
I emailed SEDO saying, This was unfair that I wouldnt get the maximum profit from my sales because their site was down. I asked for the auctions to be extended. They emailed back saying they were cancelled. SEDOs mistake, not mine. Now please let me get on with my sale.

clowesy, I am one of the bidders who drove up prices for ALL domains by bidding on them all and due to last minute bids, all auctions were extended accordingly. If Zona couldn't access SEDO, it doesn't mean SEDO was down. SEDO seemed to be working without any problem. There were several people bidding on your domains.

While you claim SEDO wanted to cancel the transactions, SEDO claims "seller has simply decided that he wants all his transfers cancelled and won't change his mind. His account will be suspended as a result."

I want to know who is lying.

Fact is I've won 3 domains, 926.US, 740.US and 680.US and I repeat: you should thank me for getting your prices to $100+

Before managing to pay, SEDO announced me they've cancelled the 680.US transaction. I didn't find out about this whole mess at that time and a bit later submitted payment for 740.US and 926.US. So I have PAID for them. Where are my domains?

And one more thing. I've won an auction at SnapNames, paid around $350 for an .INFO. A year later, I've sent it to auction at SEDO without reserve. Unfortunately for me it ended at $92. I honored my sale and moved on.

Webcom, the cause of this problem is not me!

I am a long standing member of DNF, I complete $x,xxx sales on a weekly basis.
Also I got these names for less than they sold for. I would be getting a profit if I sold them. Why would I not?

If SEDO had an efficient support system, and kept me up to date this wouldnt have happened. I have not simply cancelled them. I was concerned about the legitimacy of my sales prices, and thus questioned them. 5 days after not recieving a response I got an email saying they had been cancelled. They were the ones who cancelled them.

If I was trying to be a **** I would not be offering you the names at the prices you won them outside of SEDO.

All I can suggest is you demand your refund off SEDO, then PM me and I will sell you the names at the same price.

I really am trying to reiterate, and show this is annoying for me just as much as it is to you.

I contacted the Sedo agent who you said canceled the auction, but he responded:
Sedo said:
I have tried to urge the seller to change his mind about this, and he has
refused, so I will have to refund you and yes, I will suspend the account.

For further information please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Clarification from Sedo

Hi All

Clowesy, I've sent you a PM. Check there and follow up with me if you have any questions. Please remove any sales listings on this forum for the two domains mentioned in that message.

For everyone else: any domains subject to a sales agreement through Sedo's marketplace cannot be listed/posted for sale elsewhere, as is agreed to when registering an account (see Sedo's Terms of Use: http://www.sedo.com/about/policy.php?tracked=&partnerid=&language=us).

Based on this thread, I believe that there has been some confusion regarding terminology. The auction itself is the process used for the seller and a buyer to reach an agreement. Once an auction has closed, it has then entered the transaction stage, and transactions *can* be cancelled, but are not cancelled often, and are usually done so after a failure of either party to follow through with his or her obligations. In those cases, we do limit access to the marketplace.

With that aside, I can safely say that none of Clowesy's marketplace auctions were cancelled by Sedo. Any information regarding his account or actions of his transfer agent should remain confidential (Cronus, please note the confidentiality statement at the end of each email you receive from Sedo's staff). We will follow up with people directly involved with any applicable transactions, and any information disclosed to either party should not be passed on.

To clarify a couple questions, Sedo will not extend auctions if the auction listing was unavailable at a given time, regardless of whether this request comes from the seller or a buyer. In some cases, if the entire site is down, all auctions may be extended, but that is at Sedo's discretion. This policy is clearly stated in Sedo's User Agreement (http://www.sedo.com/about/policy.php?page=terms_us&tracked=&partnerid=&language=us), in Section 5.1.2 (specifically, section 5.1.2.7). Sedo will also not cancel an auction or an ensuing transaction because of dissatisfaction with the results. if a party refuses to follow through, a transaction may be cancelled, and appropriate actions will be taken.

I hope that helps to shed some light on this topic. I encourage everyone, if they have questions about an auction or a transaction in which they are involved, to contact Sedo directly so as to avoid specualtion or rumor. I can't guarantee that we'll be able to give you as much information as you'd like (some things are confidential), but we'll do our best!

Take care all and best of luck in the marketplace!

Always,
Keith

I will be contacting you when I get a refund from SEDO. I hope you will offer the same chance to everyone who has bid on your domains and hopefully for you, clear your reputation. As you can see SEDO's reply above ...

Webcom, You will recieve the offer.

Keith, Shaun has yet to reply to my email. If SEDO cant even be bothered to reply to emails in a timely manner they do not deserve my cooperation in this matter.

With regards to extending the auctions, fair enough. I simply pointed out I felt I had been unfairly dealt with by SEDO (as I am well within my right to do so), and then Shaun said he would cancel the auctions.
When I recieved that response, I thought OK fair enough, and went on to list them here.

If SEDO communicated quickly, and efficiently this would not have happened. Refund anyone who has paid you, they can still have the names at those prices from me direct. That is the end of the matter!

Sedo has refunded my $263, so I release my claims on 256.us and 787.us.

Cronus,
Transaction with webcom is still going through outside SEDO.
If you want your two deal still available for a week or so.

If possible please remove your negative feedback at DNF/here, I must reiterate I never intended for any of these problems, and I have not tried to scam anyone now or ever. In future please wait for the situation to unravel prior to leaving negative feedback.
Thanks

I've received a refund from SEDO as well and submitted payment to Clowesy for the 3 domains I've won.

Thanks.

Just so mods know, Webcom has got his 3 names now, Cronus no longer wanted them.
'clowesy' the scammer has once again kept has word and completed the transactions.

Please could someone now remove my unreasonable negative feedback. I am trying to get my feedback here to match my dnf feedback but it seems impossible when people just give negative feedback without reason, or solely because they think they have been hard done whent hey HAVNT.

Thanks guys
