How about 10-20 rules of thumb for traffic or domains in general?

Here's a couple obvious ones for starters.
For Traffic:
1. Typos and Type-ins.
2. Attractive women in the media spotlight

* Register domain names that are valued ... at above "Reg. fee"! :talk:

* Don't register domain names if you'd had too much to drink (either 21+ -or- even Dr. Pepper).

* Don't rely solely on "Overture with extension" claims when purchasing domain names in the secondary market ... research them further and get actual, historical traffic stats! :gl:

:imho:

Any more, friends?

If you plan on developing the domain - consider getting the big 6 TLD's - com/net/org/biz/us/info to prevent traffic or duplication problems.

*Don't always jump at the first offer

*If the domain you're about to register has the potential of ™ issues, rethink your decision again, and if possible, get help at NP's Legal Forum :tu: .

I'll post more as I come up with more.

Thanks :]!

Stick with domains in subjects and markets you know AND that can produce income.

If you aren't sure it's worth reg fee, it probably isn't.

Spell check domains picked up on drop lists. sometimes they aren't what you thought they might be.
