How much value would you place on a .com domain with 2500 overture searches per month ( without extension ) , no traffic stats unfortunatly.

Are there any general rules of thumb that you tend to follow in these circumstances and what other things should I take into consideration apart form o/t , traffic and tld extension.

There are a bunch, but I'll give you one easy thing I like to check.

Type the name into google (without the extension) and see how many google ads come up for the term. The more ads, the better. This is a quick, easy way to see if the name would be attractive to buyers who wish to create a commercial site with it.

You can do this in Overture as well. Just check the bid prices for the term. Generally, the higher the bid price, the more interest you could expect from the domain.

NOTE: This does not mean it's an automatic buy if you see a lot of ads. It just means that it's a good sign and further research is warranted.
