I got a call today from these people telling me that one of my domains needs to be checked for accuracy. I checked the domain myself and it's registered with RegisterFly and the whois is fine. I asked them who they were that was asking and they said that they are a company that works for each registrar to verify domains. Sounded a little suspicious to me, so I asked if they were going to fax me for every one of the domains I had. They said that I only had one listed under my name. Hmmm, wonder why that is. The fax machine I have is down at the moment, and after spending the morning in the hospital for horrific pain (that hopefully will work out in a few days), I wasn't about to go fooling with it. So they were like, "Take down this 1-800 number then and call us to verify your domain!" They didn't say what would happen if I didn't. After looking up the place in Google, I stumbled on a domain blog that talked about them and how they were a scam. Didn't see it on here, but thought I'd let you know. I didn't call the 1-800 number afraid it might be a loopback number that charges you rather than them. Figured that was the scam.
