Domain registration at a record pace 460,000 yesterday

The huge surge in daily domain name registrations continued yesterday as over 460,000 domain names were registered across all Top Level Domains.
The total number of new domain registrations Saturday was over 460,000.
.Com had over 222K new registrations and over 135,000 net registrations.
.Com got over 275,000 new domain registrations the previous day or basically 500,000 new registrations in the past two days.

It's pretty extraordinary. I've been watching all kinds of nGTLD stats and data since last year. The sudden surge in registrations is definitely something peculiar. Thanks for the article link.

Any data on the geographic location of the registrations?
If possible the location per extension?

At least 210K numeric domains (81K .cc, 102K .com, 25K .net) from that buyout a year ago, expired on Nov 08 this year and dropped on 25 Dec, together with 35K LLLLL.com Chinese chips.

Today 350K numeric domains are going to drop (240K .cc, 108K .com)
Registrar of most of them: 22NET

Tomorrow - 126K, on 30 Dec - 255K, and so on...
