Takeaways:
  • Improve your communication skills (be polite)
  • Educate buyers about domains
  • Consider phone/Skype (or visiting in person) instead of e-mailing
  • Always look to create an air of positivity
  • Acknowledge other people's arguments by "thanking them for their question"
  • Be sympathetic but not patronizing

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
... then the only things that can go wrong are
  1. registering poor-quality domain names
  2. pricing domains incorrectly (too high AND too low!)

3.) you e-mail is welcomed at the spam folder
4.) google and other places mark you as spammer

Now we are in not-allowed-land again, dear Frank. Outbound is considered spam in Germany and the whole EU space. If I remember correctly you must first send a physical letter to your potential buyer and ask if they allow you to send marketing E-Mails or make telephone calls.

as I said somewhere
the german law
allows email to somebody
who most likely will benefit from your information
when its a B2B relation
business - business

and the law is meant to protect private people
in their private sphere

-I am not a lawyer
- no legal advice

I was interested in that matter as
after making a phone call to a CPA in a small city in Germany
me owning the CPA[city].de versus he owning the [City]CPA.de
or vice versa

and all he said was :
"I'm going to call my lawyer right now
you know it's illegal to make these kind of calls..."

what a stupid a***********

I never heard of his lawyer
and in case he will want that other version of his company website
one day ... ;)

I was fortunate enough to attend a workshop for a few weeks with Tom Stuker. At great experience but great expense I went in place of dealer principle but worth it. https://automotivetrainingnetwork.com/about-tom-stuker/ Tom is a leading sales trainer for Automotive industry I sold a lot of cars this method and I apply this to all types of selling as well as domains. If you ever get a chance read his book it is almost a script on what and not to say. I memorised it and not sure where my copy is but If you get a chance to read it will certainly help with domains.
