Hi all,

For some of the domain names I hold, two of them has a developed (if I can say) web presence, however, in order to lower the cost of hosting, they are forwarded to free webhosting services (sometimes I use Standard or Masked forwarding). The question is: Will the free hosting harm the value of a website, as I am currently considering selling the domain names of these webs as developed websites.

Any idea?

Unless the free host makes you have a large advertising banner on you web pages, I cannot see why it would make a difference to the sites values.

You can get shared hosting without ads for $2-$3 per month -- that might be a better option if the option you're currently using very obviously makes itself known to be a free host (eg. large ads).

Not at all, Freewebs are really good, no large ads (or no ads at all) only my adsense stuff on my pages. I just raised this question because the marketplace where I want to sell my websites requires that no forwarding for websites should be done in addition to other requirements. Currently I cannot control / edit the DNS addresses as the hosting is free. I thought for having this as a requirement, freehosting might have an adverse effect on the price / value of a website of a domain name ???
