Domain Names as Assets

The best thing I love about domain names is their values.
Look I sold domains for +2000$ this month with huge profits, so got cash but I'm not confident with these money staying in account. Why for one reason:
Could spend on unnecessary things like electronics, website projects (not sure will sucess)...

Then you think what's the best investment? bank interest fees? LOL

For many domainers here like me, I'm sure you have the same feelings---> buy 1 or more domains and park it till one day you have someone asking for purchase at higher you paid for. So it's a wheel process, Sell, get money and buy better/expensiver domain....again and again...

If nobody makes an offer because price is too high, then you keep it as an asset!

Why as domainer don't we stop and use that money for a cruise vacation, buy a laptop, go to vacation, offer gifts for family...?

One-strike lucky sale, doesn't mean it's a proven business model to treat domains as assets.

If you can't make a sale and your monetization sucks, domains are actually liabilities by default because of the annual renewal fees.

I agree I caught myself that when something come to my mind i also check that name or phrase if it was available as domain

Also, received money from domain sales it is hard for me to spend on anything other than domains :D I always need to renew some domains, and also have many on my watch list which i am buying when get some cash.

I'm not a true domainer (this is a hobby) however I try to reinvest with the profits and save enough cash to treat my wife/myself.
