Domain Name 'try before you buy'

Hi,
Still quite new to the domaining world,but i wondered how this 'domain tasting' works? .Is it possible to reg your domian, see what traffic it gets, then cancel (get a refund) if you choose not to keep it??

It is possible at Moniker to purchase a domain then cancel the transaciton within 4 days for a fee of $0.25 (or something similar). Very useful if you are wanting traffic domains.

yes, quite a few registrar allow such thing. I have never tried it though.

As much as I am not a huge fan of 1&1--they do allow you to reg and delete the name within a 5 day span, also without the ican fee. So for $5.99 its an okay deal. It does involve a bit of jumping through hoops but it can be done.
