Domain Name Hacking? Waste of time?

Hey all,

Recently I saw some catchy domain names with .es, .no, .am and so on. For example cack.es or dro.ne. Is it a waste of time trying to come up with a nice domain name using domain hacking?. How hard is it to sell those type of domain names?

hacks only appeal to those who like them.

unless it's a very good one, they can be hard sells.



there is also a trust factor involved for hacks using cctlds, if the name is for a product or service

which limits end-user possibilities.

imo....

because they "purchased a ton", does not mean they will sell a ton.

Thank you very much for the advise! I started learning about domaining a few days ago. Still a long way to go.

Yes, domain name hacking is a waste of time until or unless you wish to have the same name for a reason that gives a user an insight to your product/blog/webpage. Then it does make some sense , otherwise the most popular versions online would be .com/ .net.. etc
