Domain Name - 6 Million searches per month

Hi all,

I own a domain name (a dot com), which I plan to turn into a website, that has 6 million EXACT searches per month. How effective is is to own the exact search term? btw, there are 5 words in the term.

If the domain contains more than 14 characters, I vote "don't do it".

Nix on the website idea. Most people are too lazy to type that many characters into a computer input device. If you have enough characters any phrase, you can find exact search term heaven on Google. But if the domain is too long, it is not effective from a practical standpoint.

gotta dispute that advice above and provide further evidence about using gkwt to pick domains

i have a 3 word .com doman with about 29 characters.

i put up a 1 page mini-site last year:

since then: 580 visitors 73 clicks rev $35.39

exact match for my domain is: 28 28

I agree.. if there is a search volume, you will make money if you put up a real site, or even a mini site like you did...

Only if the domain is parked is when it will make no money...

No, i determined the search volume with google keyword tool without the " ". The keywords are in a high paying (or at least i think its high paying niche).

I plan to turn it into website full articles (30-40) and milk it for all its worth.

If i type the search tem into google and analyse the current #1 ranked website i see that they are not ranking for THAT term, so that puts me at a huge advantage already....imma milk it for all its worth!

Did you select "exact searches" (in [] brackets) on keyword tool?

I doubt you have a 6 million exact match .com with 5 words in it. I think you're using the Google Keyword Tool wrong. Before you go any further with development, I would make sure you get the right number.
