You buy a domain with the intention of turning right around and selling it. That's what it means.

Domain flipping usually takes place amoung domainers, A domainer buys a name at a reduced price, and flips it to another domainer. another way, but less profitable, of quick flipping names, Ebay.

The best way of doing it IMO is to buy names in bulk from a domainer. Because you're buying in bulk, a discount is to be expected. You then turn around and resell them without any discount.

Normally really bad discounts tho so is it worth wasting the money on a domain you might not want just to get the 10%?

Honestly, I flip quite a few domain names. Primarily Adult. I snag them for reasonable prices and send them straight over to the Adult Webmasters. I have decent cash flow doing this.

How do you go about finding what domain names make a good flip?

Brian,

Honestly, it takes time and understanding in this biz to recognize whats selling well. You need to really know the market and keep in touch with buyers. It takes time to work your way into it. Over the last 2 years ive picked up what I consider a good sense for value in domain names. Some of which I know will sell well to other domainers. especially keyword.com's - However, a lot of it is trial and error. But without patience to learn this game, your going to spend a lot of money in the beginning needlessly.

Well said ...domainspade....You have to establish contacts before you even begin to think about flipping names, Stay right on top of the market trends, I was flipping names a couple of years ago, Like...when i got the hint that 3Char.coms were becoming a demand, I purchased alot of them, Same with LLL.info's I purchased alot of them right before the demand for them was booming, You are going to have work hard, to make your money, I know people that do very well flipping names though.

If he gave you his resources, Then what would be in it for him? In this business, Not many people share the resources that make them money, Most domainers hook up with different programs and have several contacts that they work with, It takes alot of time, And a lot of hard work to achieve those contacts and resources, You can do the same, But you will have to work for them.
