Hello ,
I would like to know, does certain type of domain behave like other asset classes that appreciation by a specific amount per year?
Like for example if i invest in property, it appreciates by X amount per year. does any specific type of domain behave the same way too?
Thank you for educating me

Hi
with any property, depending on where it's located.....it can appreciate in value
if, you look back in time, then you would see how certain categories of domains have appreciated in value, over that period.
you also have to look at extension of the domain, and since .com has/gets more promotion than any other, then logically, domains with that extension would have highest potential, to appreciate in value.
quality and limited availability of domain in particular categories, like 2/3/4/ letter.com and 2/3/4/5 number.com, have made such domains appreciate in value overtime.
but appreciation in value, is also tied to demand, and if there is no demand or appeal, then at that point, it may never appreciate.
on other hand....
appreciation is also tied to "time".
as sometimes, one has to hold the domain, until it appreciates to a value point, where owner may consider selling.
examples would be "future forward" names that you acquire in hopes that, that technology, service, etc. will become popular in the future.
like the person who registered crypto.com before such coins existed or those who regged cbd/cannabis names before cannabis boom.
imo
