Estibot is hands down the best automated appraisal out there... I disagree with the idea that you should ignore the dollar appraisal as I think their appraisals are more accurate than a lot of manual ones I've ordered from the usual paid suspects (godaddy/sedo/moniker). And particularly when estibot spits out a $0 appraisal... that's usually dead on.
If I understand the two sites correctly, valuate licenses the estibot technology so they should spit out the same thing I think...
Also, if you're looking for an inflated autoappraisal to show potential buyers or to impress girls I'd suggest nameboy.com

I'm just lost because Valuate says Spill-it.com is worth $530 and people on various forums have told me is basically worthless. I've been doing a lot of reading on what makes a domain valuable and such, I'm just trying to put it all together.
These tools simply look at how many times a term is searched for, spill it may have a lot of searches, but even valuate cannot tell you if there is commercial intent there
And that is what makes domains worth money, if they do not earn a penny or have that potential through brandability then they will generally be useless.
