Bought the domain 2-3 months ago with the intention of making an Affiliate Review website with it of waterproof products. Also thought of using it for a private labeling waterproof product but didn't go with it.

Any thoughts?

Thank you guys!

With the word "waterproof", at least pairing it with something like "waterproof products" (as you mentioned) or "waterproof jackets", would result in it being saleable. Take offers while you own it, hope you catch a bid. However, I consider it a hard sell, IMO

Really like it make. For many reasons. This is a problem solving domain name for one of life's greatest pain points. Getting wet. Or more to the point, avoiding getting wet. Great name for a brand. Key word volume for " waterproof " is absolutely through the rood in U.S.A. and cost of a Google ads click is quite high too. Also a huge market worldwide but especially here in U.K. where it can rain intermittently on any given day of the year. There are HUNDREDS of things you can waterproof. Here are some examples ( U.S.A. Google stats )

waterproof phone case
  • 49500 monthly searches
  • $0.96 cost of a click
waterproof shoes
  • 40,500 monthly searches
  • $2.39 cost of a click
waterproofing
  • 33100 monthly searches
  • $3.48 cost of a click
waterproof backpack
  • 27100 monthly searches
  • $1.60 cost of a click
waterproof flooring
  • 22,200 monthly searches
  • $2.19 cost of a click
waterproof speaker
  • 14,800 monthly searches
  • $1.76 cost of a click
waterproof camera
  • 14,800 monthly searches
  • $0.87 cost of a click
waterproof tape
  • 12,100 monthly searches
  • $0.92 cost of a click
waterproof socks
  • 12,100 monthly searches
  • $1.20 cost of a click
Unusual for me to suggest this but have you considered half developing your domain name into a showroom? Kind of like what @Corey does. This won't take you very long. What I mean is rather than fully developing your domain name, create an example web site with the main categories and few example pages and a " web site and domain name for sale " notice on every page. You can then slowly add bits of content and improve the site while you wait for a seller or if you start getting traffic then actually develop it fully and earn some cash. Suggest you go to Amazon best sellers and look what's trending under waterproof https://www.google.com/search?q=amazon+best+sellers+waterproof. Cheers for sharing mate.

@redemo

Thank you for your elaborate answer.

To be honest I just joined this forum last night and I'm not familiar with domain flipping and all.

But I've had a digital marketing agency for the last five years and I'm familiar with SEO, social media, and everything.

I found your post quite interesting because when I bought the domain I thought of all the points you listed.

Matter of fact I have 5-10 excel sheets that I've compiled with all results from sites like AnswerThePublic.com, UberSuggest, Ahrefs, etc...

I believe that this field has a lot of potential and can bring a lot in the long term. Unfortunately, I don't have the time nor the money or the health at the moment but I believe that for someone who has the money and who has a clear vision it can really pay off.

No it's not 4 letters or 2 words but it's 3 words easy to understand (this is waterproof).

The idea you suggested is much appreciated! I'm not sure I understand everything though.

Would you mind if I write to you privately with a few questions?

Thank again bro for taking your time it's much appreciated
