I was just wondering if once a blog reaches a certain amount of daily visitors and has good rankings if I should still nofollow most external links or is it ok to start dofollowing now?

I have read that you should nofollow everyone so you don't bleed page rank but I have also read that google loves dofollow links too.

Follow the same strategy. Use nofollow to all external links

Use dofollow on your posts (especially if you have complete control over what gets published and what doesn't). Use nofollow on comments because there are a lot of blog spammers out there and they are always leaving irrelevant links on the comments section.

As long as you are happy to constantly monitor what goes on to your site then leave it as dofollow.

If you are concerned about spammers or want to link to loads of external sites from your page then go nofollow. It really depends on who is putting the links on your site and whether you trust those links!

You have to always stick on "nofollow" strategy. It is true that Google loves dofollow links but if you start providing dofollow links then Google will divide your Page rank values among all that external page. Also, Google will believe that you are selling links hence there is a chance that you will get penalized by Google. Spammers also love dofollow links so you will get thousands of comments every day. In short, you have to stick with nofollow links.

I have dofollow on my links for the commenters. The spam gets dealt with easily (by having Akismet and some settings), so it's not a problem. If people want to post for a link, it's fine by me.

DoFollow Link is that the DoFollow Link has a special HTML Markup inside that tells the Search Engines like Google to FOLLOW the destination inside the link. Now have in mind that using this special markup or not will make the link a DoFollow Link automatically.

Both no follow and do follow links have their own place in search engine optimization. Most of the time, the importance of nofollow links are overlooked. Some marketers don't realize that no follow links are actually important for link profile building.

If its your own personal website pages link than okay you can make it dofollow but for others you should include nofollow code.

Dofollow Link is a hyperlink that is able to tell all search engines to pass along itโ€™s page rank influence to an outbound link.

Nofollow Link is exactly the opposite. It is a hyperlink that removes the ability to pass on itโ€™s page rank status to other sites.

Nofollow are for not crawling a link by search engine that influence the ranking of a particular website or blog in search engines.
