Does Sedo completely shut down over the holidays?

I recently sold a domain to a 3rd party via a broker at Sedo for high $,$$$. My buyer paid a week ago after a lengthy negotiation. The sale is listed in my Sedo account as paid, wait for instructions from the broker to push, etc...

I've received no contact from Sedo since payment was made. I've emailed the broker that negotiated the sale, as well as contacted Sedo through my account to ask how to proceed. I just want to push the domain to my buyer. I'm concerned that the buyer will think, "Hey, I paid a week ago! Why don't I have the domain! Is this a scam?" I'm afraid he'll cancel the sale or something. I don't think it's a great idea to give a buyer time to rethink their purchase, especially when it's thousands of dollars....

Is this just how Sedo operates? Do they wait for payment to clear or something? I'd think that the broker would want their commission.

Does it usually take this long for Sedo to ask for delivery of the domain after payment has been made?

I also have one pending transfer and sent a few messages to the broker ten days ago but no response.

if you go through sedo brokerage process, once buyer paid, sedo will ask you to push the domain and buyer will get the domain before you get money :)
this delay may be due to christmas and newyear holiday.
Have a wonderful 2015
cheers!

Wow, now I wish the buyer had contacted me directly. Giving a buyer 10 days to re-think their purchase is usually frowned upon in sales...

Firstly, only push the domain to Sedo's account, not to the customer's. You have to wait till Sedo tell you to push and tell you what account of theirs to push to. Once it is in the Sedo account they typically pay in under 24 hours.

If they ask you to push or transfer direct to customer, refuse. Escrow is part of the package Sedo get paid for, and those non-push-to-Sedo options are unsafe and can really slow things down.

I have found them fast lately - 1-2 days, but one time they told me the customer had paid by wire and this could take up to a week to clear. It did. I didn't think a wire transfer could be reversed, who knows.

In my experience they ask you to push the domain the day they receive payment or else the next day.

What sedo website are you registered with?
I am with the European one ( probably German ) and they are pretty efficient.

Overall, other than this delay, are you happy with the Sedo brokerage service?

Do you feel that the broker secured a much higher sale price for you than if you had just listed it on your own or put it up for auction?

Technically, the broker was working on behalf of the buyer as they contacted me first. I am however very happy with the broker's service. Very professional, etc... I feel that the price we reached was very fair for both parties.

My only complaint is the length of time that the buyer had to wait to receive the domain. This is probably because I come from a sales background. Granted, it is the holidays.
