Does anyone have the phone number for NameSecure?

I sold a few names nearly a week ago and have been trying unsuccessfully to push them. I change the registrant and all contact info for the domain names and have sent follow-up emails to them w/ the buyer's and my user names, our user details and what domains are to be pushed, figure it's a done deal, and, than, go back to my account the next day, see the names still sitting there and the registrant info has reverted back to my registrant info, although the Admin and Technical have been changed. This is really making me look bad- like I don't have it together to the buyers and is wasting a h~ll of alot of time.

The email I rececived from them for there transfer procedure and my response is below. Note the bold area. They are asking me to email the Password for both myself and the buyer.

Dear Michael,

Thank you for contacting NameSecure Support. We are focused on delivering quality customer service and to handling requests quickly and efficiently.

The registrant of the domain name must match the account holder information for the new account. The registrant listed on the domain name is the manager of the domain name. If you want to change the registrant for a domain name, here is how:

1.Log into your account at http://www.namesecure.com/myaccount

2.Click the "WHOIS Information" tab

3.Click on "Modify Registrant"

4.The fields are pre-populated with the current information. Modify the fields that you would like to have changed

5.Click "Submit"

6.On the confirmation screen, carefully check the modified information. Click "Submit" to confirm your modifications, click "Back" to correct mistakes, or click "Cancel" to abort the process

Registrant Contact changes take place immediately. You will then want to move the domain name to the new owners account. The new registrant can create a new account from the NameSecure homepage. Just click on "Log In" and then "Create Account." Make sure that the account holder contact information matches the registrant contact information for the domain name.

We can then move the domain name if you send us the following information:

Domain name (s) to be moved:

FROM:
Username for old account:
Password for old account:<- Say What?!!
TO:
Username for new account:
Password for new account: <- Say What, again?!!

We will notify you when the change has been made.

If you are still have any questions, please respond to this email with your NameSecure Service Request Number.

We hope this information has been helpful. For inquiries regarding this matter, please reply to this e-mail address ([email protected]) and reference Service Request # 1-203512488. For all other issues, please contact us via our online form at http://www.namesecure.com/support.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey M.

I have told the buyers about this and have written to NameSecure and asked them if they thought that giving out account User ID's and Passwords to other people you don't know sounded like a "secure" procedure to them, and told them it was awkward to ask this info of a customer and that I would not do it. I have waited 2 days and have received no response to my last email (the 4th in a series). Their site indicates that it is necessary to email them for the phone #. Freaking unbelievable!

True story - My nephew actually cancelled a deal and let a name expire because of the @ss backwards way these people operate. It became so awkward, uncomfortable and just plain silly, that he and the other party agreed to just blow it off.

Michael, I wish I had something more positive to report, but you are not alone. :(

OK. I'm making good on a promise. I've saved email threads, posts I've made, and have notes on the nitty-gritty B/S some of these companies have put us all through. I just did a quick search and came up w/ a generic name that I can use if I need to shift focus someday, into other areas:
I'm going to put something up- won't be fancy- no ads, no $$- just straight info on about 20 registrar's that have made my life miserable at different points. May throw in a few individual domainers as well, but will withhold names. (However, NP members can PM me for them. heh-heh)

That's who I use, also. This is fallout from the 20 free info grab bag.

It is a Nightmare over there ... It took me 2 weeks to "Push" a name to a new account when I sold out my freebies there :( - I only saved 1 out of 25 there so far .... and might not be renewing it either based on performance of the domain and the entire worry of trying to Transfer around those folks at NameSecure.

Wake up NameSecure Folks ! - Names can be secure with an easy push system as well :td:

Maybe we can get -RJ- to add NameInsecure, oops, I mean NameSecure to RegisterIndex.com for reviews. I've got a real pixel burner ready to post up for those folks. :yell: >:(

You've just given me a great idea for a new innovation in domain name management. I'm going to give the buyers my ID and P/W info and let them manage the names straight from my account. For their trouble, they can pluck an extra name out of my account. Even if they refuse, at least they will know that I'm not giving them the runaround and they can see 1st hand what I've been up against. :notme:

And, Oh baby! Have I got some good material for IdiotGallery. :talk:

Am still waiting the outcome of one transaction. The buyer and I decided that the best course would be for him to initiate a transfer out. I would assume the transfer to his registrar will work, but I have learned to not assume anything when NameSecure is in the picture.

With the other couple of names, (which were part of an inexpensive package deal from an auction here at NP), I don't know. I have sent 3-4 PMs to the buyer to try to get the issue resolved, one way or the other, and He has not responded, despite my efforts.

If I would have had even a hint that these difficulties would have ensued, I would have never put them up for sale. I am so accustomed to the user-friendly interface and the procedures that are used by registrars like eNom, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Registerfly and the others that most of normally use can name, that the utter bizarreness, (IMHO), of the policies of registrars like Namecheap, 1and1 and a few others of that ilk really throw me that, now, even after I know what their schtick is and what to expect, I will never do business with them or have any dealings w/ them again.

this is why I stick with godaddy, but there is always a few 'cons' with each company
Personally, I find eNom, Namecheap and Registerfly to have procedures that are crystal clear. Transfers, name configuration and name management are efficient and quick. I'd give GoDaddy the same high marks, except for some funky billing procedures, the way they set some of the defaults and their spam-like check out.

....re the password security thing, are you able to set up a namesecure account number 2, transfer the sold domain names to account number 2, and then give the login name and password for account number 2 to the buyer?
