Do you necessarily manually optimize your domains when parked them. I mean keywords.

No.If you do this,you are definitely owning only a small bunch of domains.

If you are sure what the visitors are looking for doesn't hurt to manually insert keywords to get the correct ads to show. If not 100% sure letting the system auto optimize over time leads to the most optimized page possible as it gets optimized by user searches/clicks.
