Do you keep your domain "Name"?

Hello all,

Was wondering to all domainers out there.. do you keep a .com or .net or .tel of your name?

Was just wondering...

Professionally, I use the initials of my first and middle name, combined and my last name.
So, say my name is John Steven Harris, I go by JS Harris in most professional contexts. I own that .com (my name isn't JS Harris, obviously :p ). This is usually a pretty reliable strategy for most people to secure a relevant yourname.com if your pure firstandlastname.com is already taken, without having to define yourself by setting up shop on an esoteric extension. If domain names are real estate and yourname.tld is your personal residence, anything other than a .com/.net/.org is living in the ghetto, as far as I see it (for US residents, anyway).

Unfortunately, my given first and last name combines to form the name of a corporation, who owns the dot-everything of it.

I regged a .tel with my last name for a future business because com and de is already taken. So .tel was a good chance for me.

You can use almost every extension you like for your name with same restrictions.
If you are from Germany it makes sense to have the .de and for a business site of course the .com too.
I will use .it for my business I think.

I have several different versions of my firstname lastname .com. I just registered my first middle initials and lastname .com. I don't have any uses for them at this moment in time, but you never know when you might need them. So better to get them before anyone else. It's a small price to pay for securing your name.
