Do I bid against myself with multiple pre-orders?

I have been watching a name for some time, which is now in Pending Delete status. I have had a backorder in for some time with the supposed priority partner drop catcher. This name now shows up in the Pending Delete lists of the "other two" main drop catchers.

If I put in backorder bids at these other two as well, am I in effect bidding against myself? Also, this is a personal interest name and not one that would get much competition, but would multiple backorders just stir up more (unwelcome) interest?

Any help appreciated.

Well, any backorder you make, the higher exposure to domain will be - ie, if you backorder with namejet, it could appear in their "recent backorder" list. Also, if someone searches for dropping domains at, again for example, namejet, he can sort domains by bids and your name will be on the list.

However, if someone really wants that domain, he will be aware of its dropping, regardless of your backorder. So, if you want to be sure, just backorder it with major players - nj, snap, pool... and be ready for bidding if domain is good. If domain is not of public interest, you may try to backorder it only with some cheaper registrar, like godaddy backorders for $20. They cant compete with nj/snap, but are usually much quicker then hand reg/hand snipping.

If it's pending delete, it will drop. It's then a free for all who catches it. I would say, if you really want this domain, you should bid at all the successful drop catchers. No, you are not bidding against yourself. You are giving yourself the best chance to capture the domain.
