.uk Do .co.uk domains have any worth in the grand scheme of things?

ccTLDs seem to always be forgotten when discussing domains anywhere in deference to the almighty and omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent and awesomely wonderful and never to be forgotten .com

In the grand scheme of things, can country specific extensions compete and where does the English .co.uk fit into this?

It probably does not have the domination .de has in Germany, but .co.uk is widely regarded as a "quality ccTLD" fetching good aftermarket prices on a regular base. Some UK entities seem to prefer .com, though.

j/k .co.uk has little value other than speculative outside of the uk, but it is the preferred extension for most uk businesses.

For example, my main business owns the .com and .co.uk , but the .com redirects to the .co.uk
