discuss Do Cheap Domains Change How We Value Ideas?

Hey everyone,
Domain prices are dropping fast, and now even names that sound premium can cost just a few dollars.
So, what's the real impact? Are these cheap domains helping spark more creativity, or are we just seeing more projects that never take off?
What's your take? Are low-cost domains a good thing for innovation, or are they flooding the web with too many half-finished ideas?
Let's hear your thoughts, excited to see where this goes!

What have you been smoking? Premium domain names are getting more and more expensive, and that's been the case since the start of the internet.

Oops… must've mixed up my whiskey with the WHOIS database 😹

Don't take me too seriously, just stirring the pot for a little spice and some laughs.

After all, domaining without humor is like a .com without DNS… it just doesn't resolve :xf.wink:

To be fair, the only ones dropping in price, are generally out of desperation (Poor quality names) or emergency liquidation (Premium quality names) to pay an unexpected bill.

other than that, even registration costs are going up again across many (If not most) of the ngTLDs. The premium registration costs are geared to cut out the domain investor and go straight to the end user (Very little meat left on those bones).

In short: Not seeing a decrease, unless you're counting $1 registration promotions (Limited and fly by night).

For me it's not an issue. I can always manage to register a half-decent domain for a new website. More recently I've been using .me

I suppose if you are talking about premium names getting cheaper (is that really the case?) then it might generate some activity in new projects/websites.
