Ok, heres the deal folks :)

I registered a domain with Namecheap. CareerSpot.co.uk

I did this 2.5 days ago. As of yet, it still isnt recognised.

The WhoIs says its set up with the right NS. and the account is set up on the NS server. so it should be working.

Thus, my questuions are :

1) Do .co.uk take longer, as .com's at NC seem to take 2-3 hrs
2) If they do, how much longer
3) How can I get it sorted, as we launch in 4.5 days?

Thanks folks, I'm hoping the NP community is as astute as it always has been :)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
From what i know, .co.uk take the same time as .com, thats been the case with all my previous .co.uk's anyway....

If it doesnt come up by latish tomorrow, i would contact them :)

Thanks Sabre. Must say, for 60+ always viewing this forum, 1 reponse is pretty poor. I'm sure there are more out there who know about this?

Anyone?

With my NameCheap experience it takes 72 hours for all domains to propagate.

In my experience with GoDaddy, it takes

1 to 2 hours - .us/.ws/.name
3 to 4 hours - .com/.net/.org/.info

for the DNS to propagate

So I'm not sure why it's taking 2.5 days for your .co.uk to propagate. Maybe check with your host.

It always says that the entire process can take up to 72 hours. It usually never takes more than a couple of hours though :)

Threed It Can take Days depending on various Factors including how often local ISp cache their DNS. But yes usually it can be quite fast.

Like templaterave said make sure you have an account setup first so that when you domain propogates then it will show your website immediately. Also, it can take 3 days for to propogate although with my experience with domainsite my first domain took 2 days and the second was instant.

register .co.uk via 123-reg.co.uk any .co.uk or .com domain takes about 1 hr for it to be viewable. They state 24-48hrs but when ever i change the NS records to point towards my Raq4 servers around an hour and its done. Same when i change them to sedo.

You get the 123 reg holding page after a registration after 5-10minutes.

Also a very good website tool page to check your DNS etc etc is www.dnsstuff.com i live by this site it rocks.

That site helps my internet business and my engineers find out anything they need about mx records a records , spam lists you name it.
