Unstoppable Domains โ€” Expired Auctions

Discuss your Epik Experience!

I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Don't act as amateur registrar!
Remove it completely or make optional!

I don't understand your statements.

As an example, we do not specify in the control panel that we use Estibot for the estimated value - just "Value"

Also, for example, Dynadot using Estibot for estimated cost on all auctions:

Dynadot also by your opinion Amateurs? We use EstiBot services for ESTIMATED VALUE. We get an approximate price, which does not reflect your personal desire to sell the domain for a large amount.

For most users, this is an extremely important indicator.

Who told you so?

It is NOT.

Estibot evaluations are laughable and idiotic.

If you really are in need to show some evaluations for some reasons that no one else can understand, use Godaddy appraisal instead, these are tons times more accurate.

Oh wait...

Do you have a good analog? We use third-party services for estimate pricing for domains and do not control the output from these services.

No good analogs here.
All those bots are toxic and just for fun.

If I sell a domain via a payment plan & the buyer stops paying part way through, do they lose their right to the domain & I the seller regain ownership & keep the payments they have made up to that point ? This is how it works at Dan, wanted to check that Epik is the same.

Hello, i have 2 questions

1) regarding recently expired domains.
ACCEPTING OFFERS
Domain owner will consider reasonable offers

I do not able accepting offers for expired domains. How to delete landing page or unpark expired domain or delete contact form?

2) and does epik have expired domain auctions? one of my domains was expired and just moved to another epik account it was sold or what?

When did it expire? After 15 days they will grab your domain and list it for sale themselves. After a while they will send it to their bargain bin. If it doesn't sell, they will send the domain to a 3rd party to be auctioned off as an expired auction domain.

Haven't kept track that much but this is what I noticed. Feel free to correct me where I'm wrong.

That's odd. You still own it and are within grace renewal so you should be able to use the domain as if it hadn't expired. Contact their support. Might be they just disable some options in their backend once a domain expires. Support has proven to be a hit/miss in my experience though. When in doubt hit up Rob by DM.

Once a domain expires, Epik's lander goes up and then THEY can start negotiating with interested parties. Happened to me. Sketchy. Beware!

Bids on the names, i guess you have to renew...
I noticed things moved pretty quickly at epik, each registrar is different,
do due dilligence

Maybe a little late sharing but here it goes

In August of 2020 I had sold a .vc domain name through Epik for $xxxx with the help of @Rob Monster and had the money in my account within minutes. Straight after the sale completed, I had received a phone call from Rob himself congratulating me.

It was a great experience for me(y)

We celebrate all customer wins, especially the life-changing ones, but also the base hits. And in a day of impersonal emails and social media grandstanding, I still much prefer a one-on-one meeting or call.

I have just used Epik escrow and the process has been super smooth, hassle free and fast.
Buyer can pay by many ways including Bitcoin, and you can also receive the funds in many ways. I have to say that Transferwise is incredible fast sending the funds!
The Masterbucks interface is super good, simple and easy to use, very complete and with everything you need, nothing more and nothing less.
The withdrawal possibilities are also very flexible. You can withdraw the funds how and when you want.
Both Epik and Masterbucks have the possibility of using a full range of 2 FA and filters, security measures that some sites out there are still missing nowadays.
So, in resume, a very good experience using Epik escrow!
