Discuss your Epik Experience!

I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

I can still hardly beleive that the story has anything to do with politics. Good that Epik stopped commenting at this time, however, earlier or later, hope they will disclose what really happened here. Maybe this finally worked... Unfortunate that Epik does not have the Paypal option anymore, overall Epik is a great service.

Anyone else receiving phishing email purporting to be from "Epik Single Sign On", from this sender client at epic dot com, or client at epik dot com to their domains? I have received 22 so far, to info at mydomain dot ext. For some domains the email forwarding is set up at epik, but for others it is setup at their respective domain registrar or by other means. The originating IP starts with 158.51.*

Received one (or two) this morning and deleted it right away without any clicking.

If action jackson ratted out epik, and thats the reason for the epik paypal divorce, why namebio get popped too?
There is more to this than epik and its dรฏgital currency or choice of presidency
Hopefully people are sniffing around other
โ€œ forumsโ€ or reditt or wherever and truth comes out.
Wondering if it has anything to do with all the friends and family transactions people use, to avoid payรฏng paypal their fees
Not once did i do that, lots people here do and if i had i would be quite concerned because that is fraud in iโ€™s of paypal

Don't want to hijack the thread, but PayPal just banned us in the same way...

https://namebio.com/blog/namebio-among-latest-round-of-paypal-bans/

Both NameBio and my personal account. Maybe Adam's too, I haven't heard from him yet.
And the plot thickens.

Many years ago I had my PP account closed because of a website I was managing that got complaints.

The timing was very poor because I had worked hard to fix the issues and when they closed my account all the "fixes" went to waste.

Once I closed down the website they restored my PP account and I've had no issues since then.

So I haven't been a fan of them for awhile and use them with caution.

It all becomes clear, and makes sense if you don't understand the domain industry at all, which most people don't: https://namebio.com/blog/update-to-the-paypal-ban-paypal-explains-everything/
Dรฉjร  vu smh

It's amazing to me how they get away with this and we continue to fall for it because they're so popular.

We're forced to use them and just when we think all is well, they pull the rug out from under our feet. Then everything we've worked so hard for is gone.

FWIW, the same thing happened to us with MailChimp recently. They banned us out of the blue with no explanation, and it turned out one of the domains in our daily newsletter had a bad previous history and they thought we were promoting the illegal site. I got the ban removed in like 6 minutes so I deleted all the stink I raised about it. They're probably using the same system PayPal is.

omg... all is now clear from professional domaining point of view. Hope you'll be able to restore your account! Crossing fingers... As for epik case - what if epik also included domain names in marketplace transaction details? What if somebody sold a domain name on epik marketplace, and paypal did not like the domain?

Edited: Sedo also includes domain names, at least in sellers payments via paypal. No issues so far...

Mailchimp is a home for spammers, including domaining related spammers. I check headers of the most annoying spam in my inbox, including for example fake subscriptions I never agreed to - many are sent via mailchimp. I'd say they actually did you a favor... as you'll now find a better altermative :)

What is the best way to get authcodes for my domains at epik? I can click on a domain and go to Transfers and then "Transfer domain to another registrar" and that gives me the code. But if I select 2 or more domains, that option is greyed-out. Is there a way to display or export more codes at once?

You can request all your auth codes by contacting them directly (should still be [email protected]). It may just not be instant depending on when you make that contact but they will respond positively to your request for sure
