Any idea about HologramCreator in com?

Didn't get an answer to this previously so will try again.

The definition of "Holo" = hologram

"Holos" is the plural noun =holograms

Does anyone think the plural noun will come into play?

Obviously video & videos would be a classic example of where the plural noun became more popular along with popual keywords.

An example of such a keyword would be:

Girl Holos = Girl Holograms

Any opinions greatly appreciated?

JMHO, but I agree holographic content may indeed be referred to as "holo/holos," as in "Let's watch a 'holo'" or "Did you see those sports 'holos' last night?" (Similar to your video/videos example...) In fact, several sci-fi novels anticipate just such a use of language... This said, it's so hard to know what will become the colloquial expression utilized with any technology - e.g. To use your video example, none of my friends ever call a video a "vid," although this is certainly a shorter/pithier way to refer to the tech. (On the other hand, "cam" is preferred over camera in domain names, so go figure... )

I didn't reg a lot of names, but on the possibility "holos" becomes the term of choice, I grabbed up a few of the major keyword- But I wouldn't recommend regging a bunch of "holos" names at this point as Holo+kw remains the clearly preferred configuration and best investment bet (Unlike "VR" where there is some flexibility..) ... again JMHO... ;)

Some kw+"Holos" names I've taken a chance on:

myHolos
musicHolos
gameHolos
sportHolos
p@#nHolos

100% agree. But when we are talking about the preferred combination (kw + holo) we are just looking at the domainers obvious choice (i.e microsoft named their product with the word "holo" @ the beginning) so naturally we all be lemmings and think THAT'S IT, HOLO @ THE BEGINNING IS THE ONLY COMBO TO GO FOR :-/

However if the keyword "Holo" does come into play because of future technology history does sugguest end user keyword search results can differ from product names such as:

Video Player (consumers search "Videos" when searching for content)
Movie (consumers search "movies" when searching for content)
Picture (consumers search "pictures" when searching for content)

etc etc .....

I totally agree though, I would not want other forum users to go crazy registering loads of "holos" keyword domains because of my post. Personally I just am under the opinion that the search term "holos" will 100% come into play as a consumer search result if the word "holo" is adopted from future technologies.

It would after all be the natural search term to use when consumers are looking for more than one "holo" (hologram) of something.

@NamesBond those are definately top keywords so if the term does come into consideration for search results as I think it will you are going to be sitting pretty my friend :D

I am also holding onto some top keyword + holo & holos keyword domains so fingers crossed for both of us ;)

i actually replied to this back here - https://www.namepros.com/posts/5340410/ but i guess
oddly enough, you even responded in full agreement, saying, 'Yes, soon after posting this I realised that this was a no go'er'

i personally don't see any chance the term 'holo' gets pluralized, i'm sorry
i understand the theory you are applying - "if hologramS (with an S) is used accurately, why wouldn't an abbreviation be proper as well... ?"

First of all, rarely will there be times that hologramS will be pluralized while being paired with an additional keyword - i didn't say never - i said rarely

Take a few of those times where the plural hologramS may actually work:

HologramS Online--- > Holos Online ??
Smart HologramS ---> Smart HoloS ??
XXX HologramS ---> XXX Holos ??

and secondly, 'Holo' is a 'Brandable' alternative to Hologram/Holographic - brandable being the key term here - brandable terms are 'rarely' pluralized... again - never said never - i said rarely.

I think this all sounds very forced and somewhat desperate.. as in... "I just registered Healths Insurances Policies".com"

Thank you for the reply.

You have actually never answered my question before. If you look at the link you supplied I previously asked if the abbreviation "HL" could potentially ever be used.

To which I agreed I can now see will be a no goer.

As for the plural being used, I don't think it is a forced or desperate move. To me it is a smart move.

I have some good:

Holo + Keyword
Keyword + Holo
Holos + Keyword
Keyword + Holos

No one knows what will be searched for by consumers when "holo" content is made mainstream, so I am just covering a few angles.

Almost all my holos domains were registered using a $1.39 coupon.

I definately agree that there would be certain searches where this could work more than others so was selective in the domains I chose.

As per your example I did reg words such as:

xxx holos
girl holos
live holos

etc etc....

I really appreciate your reply and respect your stance.

I am just saying that there is a feasable chance that the plural could get used and if it did names such as xxx holos would definately be worth more than a few years reg fee.

Am I clutching at straws? Probably yes. But I would be gutted if plural searches did happen & I had no cover in this area at all.

a few years back both R0B0.com and H0L0.com were available for hand reg (both oh's are actually zeroes)
i asked a pretty highly ranked domainer at the time about what he thought about those types of names and he told me that you don't ever want to be branded as a hack in this business... i thought about it, it made sense, and someone else registered those names... that always stayed with me... for whatever that's worth :)

you are correct - i was wrong on that one, my apologies.

but to go back to your topic..
Girl Holos doesn't sound wrong to you?.. off?.. odd?.. forced? or one of those moments where you are talking to a computer instead of trying to speak normally (know what i mean?)

I've done seo for years and one of the simple rules are make sure your copy is speaking to people first - people get so over the top with stuffing and aiming for certain strings that the whole body sounds so wrong... Girl Holos... or Live Holos sounds very much like that.

I hear Holo and consider it all encompassing - like saying Music.. Live MusicS
or like a singular and plural in one.. Moose

but all the same.. best of luck with your names

Thanks for your reply :)

I get what you are trying to say and I am not saying you are at all wrong. I am just unsure if what you are saying is 100% correct.

The word porn for example does not have a plural. You type "porns meaning" into google and it is clear the word does not exist.

Now type "holos meaning" into google and the first thing that comes up for me is:

holo
หˆhษ’lษ™สŠ/
noun
informal
plural noun: holos
  1. a hologram.

Now I totally respect the fact that you are a more experienced domainer than myself and that you are experienced with seo. I am only a newbie.

My only question is why is there a plural noun for the term Holo?

You mentioned an example "musics" but again this word does not exist. There is not a plural noun for the word "music".

Therefore if a plural noun does actually exist for the term "holo" is it not a term that maybe should be considered when covering specific niche domains.

To answer your question on "girl holos" not sounding right. To me it sounds no different than using the term "girl videos".

Like I said, I have singular "holo" keywords and I do agree that the holo keyword in itself is very brandable and easy flowing.

Thanks for your replies though, I really appreciate you taking the time to give your insight of things :)

Imo, one of the most important questions is "would you name your company that way?".

Personally, I can see "Holos" being used as all, I think it will just be the singular

Hi serharkotan

Thanks for your reply but I am a bit confused.

Not every domain that sales is going to be based on whether a company would use the domain it's bought for its company name.

You do realise that some of the biggest domain sales in the world were bought for keyword reason's alone?

A company bought a well known name for over $8 million last year. It was not bought because they wanted to use it for their company name.

Lets take another name for example that ends with a plural.

MusicVideos.com was bought for $250,000. It directs to just a parked page. They did not buy the name because it was going to be their company name. They bought it because of the keywords it contained.

@NamePov

i suggest you do a search on google for the term HoloS and see what your results look like.
click through the results to the pages and websites and see how the term HoloS is being referenced -i've gone as far as three pages and not seen one reference to holograms anywhere.

now - MAYBE throughout your search you may be lucky enough to find someone, somewhere referring to HoloS as a singular word - but nowhere will you find HoloS + keyword - and that's the point!

Hi gilescoley,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I understand why the term "holo" is currently the prefered term.

But like I previously stated there are words that do not contain a noun plural.

Holo does infact have a noun plural so I would be foolish not to take a little gamble, even if there is an unlikely chance that it will ever happen.
