that price tag is about the only thing that's going to slow this holo train down... that's a bit steep
Only thing is important for us (domainers) is that let them give more publicity so we can sell it at higher price.. More marketing/publicity ..higher the domain price

Its a developer edition and not the consumer one.
So its priced high.
Once there are enough apps in this gadget this will be available to the consumer at affordable cost.

@NamePov

i suggest you do a search on google for the term HoloS and see what your results look like.
click through the results to the pages and websites and see how the term HoloS is being referenced -i've gone as far as three pages and not seen one reference to holograms anywhere.

now - MAYBE throughout your search you may be lucky enough to find someone, somewhere referring to HoloS as a singular word - but nowhere will you find HoloS + keyword - and that's the point!

Thanks again for your reply.

The same can sort of be applied if you do a search with just the word "holo" though. Not much promising articles come up then.

If you type hololens however, Bingo.

Thanks for everyones replies though.

I get the fact that no one thinks the term holos will ever come into play and I suppose that was my original question.

Thanks all for taking the time to give your thoughts, greatly appreciated :)

i've heard as low as $1,500 for the consumer version - but that's still pretty high and will need to come down to the $500 range for mass adoption

Hi serharkotan

Thanks for your reply but I am a bit confused.

Not every domain that sales is going to be based on whether a company would use the domain it's bought for its company name.

You do realise that some of the biggest domain sales in the world were bought for keyword reason's alone?

A company bought a well known name for over $8 million last year. It was not bought because they wanted to use it for their company name.

Lets take another name for example that ends with a plural.

MusicVideos.com was bought for $250,000. It directs to just a parked page. They did not buy the name because it was going to be their company name. They bought it because of the keywords it contained.
Firslty, ofc i am aware how companies decide to buy or not to buy domains, those statistics has nothing to do with it. Those kind of names are actually generic names right now. Also not all sales show the value of domains. People do mistakes, rich people also do mistakes. Its gambling what we do here, and that was just my opinion. I said i dont think "kw+holos" will be generic. But i might reg if i find some good ones. Its all about how rich you are, giving some bucks to those regs wont hurt me and i know a lot of people here counting on low bucks while domaining. We are here giving investment advice to all who read it. So i try to give more secured advice rather then pumping a niche.

Yes I totally agree with what you have now said.

I also however was not trying to give any advice or tempt people into spending money on keyword + holos domains.

That's why I asked the question because I am unsure myself.

I was just asking why people would say it doesn't make any sense at all when there is a plural noun in existence for the said word.

I am myself a singular holo keyword fan. Im just trying to cover a few differen't variations of the hologram word.

Again thanks for the reply. Didn't mean to cause any problems with my last reply :)

Yes I see what you are saying but we have not got much holo content to go by at the moment.

You ask many consumers at the moment what a holo is and most probably won't be able to tell you.

I am not asking if holos is currently a search result. I am asking do people think there is even a 10% chance it could become a search term in the future given the fact that it is plural for the term holo.

I think it's already clear this is something that I only think may become a search term once it reaches mass market.

I appreciate everyone replying to my question. Yes I understand it is probably a desperate attempt on my part that probably won't amount ti anything. Guess I will just have to fail on my own lol

In all seriousness though, it is a gamble that I am willing to pay a couple years worth of reg fee on. Not got many holos domains. & they were purchased for $1.39 each in promo deal.

I dont really think this is a legit argumant, if you type videos technology you will get less results then video technology but it doesnt make videos less desirable..

Its more about showing the word holo is more commonly used than holos

Video and Videos is not really comparable as both are very popular in this day and age

We are talking about new technology with holo so its pretty relevant

Anyway, we will have to wait and see

What do people consider their current top two holo names to be?

Off the top of my head the two in my portfolio I like the best are:

1) Holo Teach (.com)
2) Holo P#rnography (.com)

Only picked num 2. because I own the VR & AR version, so picking it more for the set it completes.

"Target" is moving at the moment, and dependent on Hololens adoption rate, AR eco-system growth, etc... Hololens dev kits are just going out, and the tech still has serious FOV issues... We will have a better picture in 2-3 years or so... (factoring in AR is about 2-3 years behind VR in development/deployment...) Bottom line, I think low $$$$$ current value, but possibly mid to high $$$$$ as they "ripen" with time! ;) In any event, these are "long-holders" for me... See you in 2020!
