did anybody see this at CES last week?:
HoloLamp wants to bring Star Wars Dejarik into reality
geez, this is frustrating on so many levels as this is a complete mis-use of the whole concept of holograms. Talk about trying to ride a wave, which is about the only good news from this piece, but this is nothing more than standard 2D projection - face down on a table top. It uses eye tracking and some 2d drop shadows on the pieces to give the
illusion of depth, but other than that - this is absolute garbage. why in the world would these characters be calling this holoANTHING?
Microsoft spinning AR into Holo is one thing - but i'm not particularly fond of seeing wanna be startups abusing the term before it even happens.
And to put the icing on the cake, it's built on a .IO ... i guess this kind of says it all, no?...
the extension mirrors the product!
found another one in my portfolio :
HoloCommercial .com
I have a pure brandable for this that i really like:
• HOLOMERCIAL
... with any luck, the right people will really like this too.
Nice, I got singular HoloAdvertiser.
in the same mold as Holomercial above, i have
• Holotising(.)com
(holographic advertising)
i absolutely love this name and the possibilities the very marketable 'holo' brings with it.
