Hi Folks,
It is interesting to see all the interest in holographic technology now. I was involved in domains around 2002-2007 and one of the areas of future technology that I was particularly interested in is holographic technology. There were multiple possible applications -- 3D display, data storage media, data memory, etc. I must admit that I went through possible holonames quite thoroughly (with one exception -- I did not register sex or porn related ones). Some of my favorite terms (some of which I got and some I did not) were holovision, holoTV, holophone, holoprojector, hologames, holocam(s), holocard(s), holoplayer, holocube, holodisk, holovid, hologlasses, and holotech. I have sold some and kept some. I do not regret the ones I sold and am happy I kept some. Back in 2007, it looked like the most likely application for holographic technology would be holographic data storage, but now it looks like streaming has largely replaced portable media data storage -- go figure
-- sometimes the future throws us a curve ball!
Interestingly, my interest in the term holovision not only inspired me to name my company after the term, but also inspired a series of patents for glasses-free 3D display, such as this one:

Also, to show what a nerd I really am --
http://www.qshirts.com/Q_HOLOTECH.HTM -- this link will take you to T-shirts on the theme of holographic technology that I created by in 2006 with taglines like "Catcha lazer, Dude!" and "Holo Can You Go?". Needless to say, they were not big sellers!
Best wishes to all here who are carrying on such thinking about possible tech futures.
