I'm one of those (really weird) guys who don't have Twitter and not even LinkedIn.
I never saw the point of these.

Edit: I only post here on NP and this won't change anytime soon.

Nice sale. I once sold an org domain in 8 hours of registration through outbound. Great old days..

Thanks, yes it does help a little. Although I should have asked about the sales ratio instead, how many sold per annum out of 100 names.

Reason: I'm currently listing most of my .co's at xxx range prices. Always wondered if I should stick to xxxx range, still wondering. It's probably a trade-off, overall I get better sales count (higher sales ratio%) but at less $ per domain, which brings probably more or less similar revenue overall; but provides more information about what kind names are being sold.

Since I will not be able to renew all of these .co domains I thought it makes sense to keep the lower $.

But still wondering whether I should up the price in a similar way. I know many domainers stick to the $1.5k - 2.5k range for co's. My long term goals are mostly with .coms though.

I mean outbounded to few end users as soon as I registered this name (with BIN price of 499$) and it was sold within few hours on the same day. So basically time difference between the Handregistering domain and sold time is just a few hours.

I price each domain individually, every $1-3 .co i price between $99 and up to $1985, in very rare cases even up to $2985 but if only it's a gem. If a domain is really good, which i would buy even for $30 or whatever, and only by a happy occasion it costed me $1-3 instead, - why to set a discount price. For all others, i set $99-985 to create a cashflow, that's the beauty in these specials - that it takes only a few $99-299 flips to pay the bunch off and then you may already not worry about others that are listed there with their real market prices. (Of course if you buy reasonable domains at these specials, i'm not talking about buying garbage.)

Makes perfect sense and mirrors my prices and strategy. I do have 4-figs up to 4K but most are 3-fig and I use a similar tiered strategy. Just that mine start at $199, I don't price below that unless it's clearance. Wondering if the $99 price was successful though.

    Thanks for your response!

Exactly. Usually a few months before expiration i review all my expires for say a certain month, i pick a few that i'm going to renew no matter what, all others are going the liquidation path. Like 2-3 months to expiration i lower the price for all to $299 ( of course except ones that are already < 299 lol ), the last month to $99, then i put all at Nameliquidate. This way i have a stable cashflow, and usually i pay every $1-3 bunch off many times, despite the fact that absolute majority of those domains are getting dropped in the end.

Same here, except I didn't have that much success with NameLiquidate so far, but who knows what the future holds. Thanks!

Yes, it is not easy to be successful in outbound as people used to send 1000s of emails and finally get 2 to 3 price requests hardly and I am no expert in outbound. I had success only from the past 3 months especially in bitcoin domains and that too I don't do bulk email outbound, just search for top 5 to 10 leads in that service and either connect to top management of the company through Linkedin or send few emails from their website contact form or FB page and like this i have been successful in selling few domains to 3 different clients initially.

From these initial sales, Now I have my buyers and i also know what types of domains they like and what is their sweet spot pricing. So i have done some research on their website and understand their services and registered few related keyword service domains and sold to them successfully. Like that, i have sold approx 50 domains (all hand registered) in last 3 months (few are bulk sales like 6 domains for 800$, 38 domains portfolio for 2000$, few individual domains in the range of 125$ to 500$ ). This strategy actually worked for me in the last 3 months. Before that, I don't have many sales both in inbound and outbound. In a simple way, the strategy is acquiring clients first and then sell the more related domains to them at a very reasonable price, like it's a win-win for both of us. For me, this sales money helped in cash flow to renew my domains and invest in more domains. I know this strategy won't work in all contexts but somehow it worked for me. I majorly invest in Hand registered domains and 98% of my portfolio (800 domains approx.) are hand registered ones.

    Thanks,

Another nice sale. By the way how you decide where to park the names? I mean which Lander to use, Dan or Afternic or any other.

I might consider doing something in the future but I generally don't have an email template.

I just try to outbound companies that I know are already invested somehow with the keywords I am trying to sell. That way I don't have to work very hard to sell the idea to them.

I try not to sound like a domainer. So I make them think I did purchase this originally for a future project.

I also provide them with a link to my make offer/buy now lander to make things as simple as possible for them.

Happy to see your sales. But I wonder your outbound target is quite uncommon.
ANd how you even find such uncommon leads! & names! lol
