Hey guys,
I'm an independent contractor for a national Tech Support outsourcing staffing agency. Basically, they can call me up and say "we have this job in your area at this time, can you do it" and I get to say yes or no.

Anyway, as a result, they are giving me free Dell Certifications through Dell's DCSE website. I've already gotten my customer relation's certification finished. I'm wondering how hard and how extensive the other certifications are - such as the Desktop Foundations 2008?

I'm studying right now, and will study off and on until I feel ready - I probably won't be able to study enough and be ready to take it until my Christmas Break... unless you guys convince me that this test is a cinch for an experienced computer tech.

I don't know, personally, the difficulty of this test, but have a few associates who told me it is fairly common knowledge for a 'computer' nerd - but the normal everyday Joe can't touch it.

But, it all comes down to you. I would definitely recommend reading up on a few areas you may be rusty in, or you feel may potentially be on the test. My comrades assured me there is nothing on the test that is out of the blue - pretty straight forward.

Good luck on your testing, and I wish the best of luck to you!

Regards,
Jacob "DebacleX" Nicholson

Get some old papers from the same certification course ;) That will give you more understanding what to be prepared for.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. That helps. I think I'll study for and take a test for a specific model to get a feel for what kind of questions it asks, and then I'll figure out how much I need to study for the Foundations.

If you've stuck around here since 2005, you're a full fledged computer geek. I say take the test now, it ought to be a cinch! :gl:
