Hello,
I took a lot of good suggestions from this forum and finally got a domain.

crossjoint.com

Monthly search volume (exact): 22,200
Search results (exact): 42,800

So far I'm getting only 1 - 6 direct hits daily, but I'm going try to get it on top of google for "cross joint". Doesn't have any back links, but I think the search volume is a good start. I'm planning to develop it into a real site.

What do you think?

Also, what is a 'good' monthly search volume? I've read that 3,000 is considered a good one, but isn't 3,000 really low and doesn't get any type in traffic, if I get only 1 - 6 a day? Any feedback is much appreciated!

It's not just traffic - it's also whether it attracts advertisers. 500 exact per month is good if it's the right words. Even 200/mo.

Assuming Google's stats are right, you have yourself an audience of young potheads. Why not sell bongs?

I somehow think that people who take the time to roll joints in the shape of a cross will not have a whole lot of spare cash.

Still a 22,000 direct search .com is a rare thing if it was a hand reg.

Well...if the potheads can remember your domain name, and if they can remember their credit card numbers or alternatively if they can remember where they left their credit cards, and if they can remember what they went online for in the first place you should make some money. B-)

It is an excellent number of search stats. However I don't see much end-user potential. I overbought this week or I make an offer.

If I were selling I wouldn't let it go for less than $750...That's to a reseller mind you. My best advice is to develop it and get some direct ads from hydroponics suppliers, bongs sellers, criminal defence attorneys etc. You might think about developing some kind of a kit for making the cross. Anyway lots of fun trying :)

It will take time due to having a lot of competition but a developed site on that name would eventually rank #1 I'm sure and start making big bucks.

Good luck!

Great name with a high number of exact searches (extremely uncommon for a .com hand registration nowadays). However I find it difficult to express a value because of the particular nature of the domain. Probably something below $x,xxx

did you know what a cross joint was before you reg it?

Your best end-user candidates would be saavy 420 related estores that would use this domain as a traffic driving marketing peripheral, ancillary to their primary site.

Owning topically relevant keyword phrases to bang out a decent serp for that phrase- then drive as many as possible to your main site- is what the smart ones are doing these days.

The only 'catch' to this name is that it's a pop-culture supernova- where it will get a ton of interest due to a movie- then most likely fade into relative obscurity.

Trivially easy decision to hand-reg this name- definitely worth it- but I'd sell while the "cross joint" iron's still a bit warm.

Thank you everybody for the feedback! My original plan was to develop it into a community type of site, and possibly later add an online shop to it, but development would take a while. If I could get quick cash for it, I would sell it now.

The tricky part is - I have no idea how/where should I try to sell it.

Domain name auction platforms have SO MANY domains in auction, that it seems like I wouldn't have much success there. I've sold a domain on ebay before, but I feel like I'll end up getting nothing for it there.

Your best end-user candidates would be saavy 420 related estores that would use this domain as a traffic driving marketing peripheral, ancillary to their primary site.

Should I contact bunch of these stores and offer them the domain or what kind approach should I take here?

did you know what a cross joint was before you reg it?
Yes, but I didn't know it was in the movie.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!! Thanks!

Sell to endusers (420 stores). Check the "How to find endusers thread", excellent info thread.
