I was really surprised to have found the name available and would love your insights on development angles. I'd love to make the site a public blog or editorial page--perhaps a forum--but am not convinced of the practicality of these approaches to the mobile medium. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi
the first thing that springs to mind is "open education" is kinda read like that when i saw it! therefore an educational site for people? Good luck

Op is a common military abbreviation for Operation (OPS...Operations). I would think this would make a dynamite tutor, education software, student loans, test prep site.

Damn good name with stong powerful sound...Op Ed, Operation Education. Man, love it.

Take it where it needs to be...on the WWW!

oped is taken in all common tld's. OperationEducation is also. This could be a policital party's rally cry like the, gulp. "No Child Left Behind".

Sell this sucker to Hillary of Obama, or Rudy, John, Al (sharpton).

OpEd.com is an open editorial post. So go the education route would be my opinion. Extremely brandable and memorable.

Oped in Journalistic circles means Opinion editorial. I believe this is how it is known to many. My suggestion is you gear it towards news and such. :imho:

I had this on my watchlist. I too was surprised it wasn't reg'd. It is most commonly meant to be opinion editorial and is a great fit for mobile phones.

Thank you all for your input. I definitely want to use the name in a manner which reflects the "Opinion Editorial" meaning--this is the first thing I think of when I see or hear "op ed". Question now is how? Political blog which allows users to comment? A straight-forward news site (not all that exciting to me...)? I would love to make the site interactive in some respect.
